When People are Puzzled by Drag.....
When some people find out you do drag I find most are intrigued or just plain love it. Some don't understand it and are like why , are you a cross dresser? Then I always remember Noxzema Jackson's quote, and that seems to put them in the right place! "When a straight man puts on a dress and gets his sexual kicks, he is a transvestite. When a man is a woman trapped in a man's body and has a little operation, he is a Transsexual. When a gay man has WAY too much fashion sense for one gender, he is a drag queen! And how true it is!

Funny how we can accept the likes of Marlene Diestrich and Diane Keaton wearing menswear, it's OK for lezzies to be butch and basically wear construction worker garb, but we gawk at the sight of a guy in drag. The stick has always been shorter for the men in this world....
ReplyDeleteLOL, LOVE THIS! Ivan is so correct on that too. Hell most drag queens would kick you ass and then hand you your head, on a silver platter of course!
ReplyDeleteFirst off that movie had some damn good quotes, and second you do have way to much fashion sense! That ensemble the other night was so cool and urban. I don't know how you mix things together and it works. And lets not get started on the Mistress!!!
ReplyDeleteWe do tend to have alot of fashion sense don't we???? And cocktail recipes!
ReplyDeleteLove this quote! I always get asked at shows if I'm a trans or a drag queen. Some people just can't grasp the idea this is just a hobby and I have no desire to be a woman. It's just great fun!
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard that one before but it's good, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI will be stealing that quote when people get all confused about drag queens, transvestites and transgendered people.
ReplyDeleteSpot.On.
I love the coruscating glamour of a man in drag, now that Elizabeth Taylor's gone where else can one find a devilishly arched brow?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Correct!!! ...just too much fashion sense for one body! Might as well cover all the bases. "Yeah!!!" ;)
ReplyDeleteYes I do believe most people get the three mixed up. Everytime I perform I always get asked if I had the change yet!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you know a friend of mine does drag and looks incredible as a guy and a queen!!! I buy this quote!
