THE MAGIC HAPPENS

Drag, and drag queens have always been part of my life in some form for as long as I can remember, whether doing drag, friends and sisters who are queens, and still supporting local queens, and attending events, or at times assisting queens. I loved doing drag in all the 27 years I did it. It opened up my personality and believe it or not, helped me get to know my male self-more, and learn to be more comfortable with my body, as in, getting over shyness when it came to my body. Not once did I ever get tired of the transformation of getting into drag. When friends would be "hanging out" with me even they would be amazed as the Mistress would emerge, and my male side would disappear step by step. Nope. It never gets old. Lots of time spent getting ready? SURE. But it never got tired. And it was even better when your concept and look came to creation. As step by step would get compete, I could also feel "the Mistress" personality emerge more and more. I recently came across some old shows that were in my saved video tab on YouTube, of a series, drag queen and salon owner, Quency Valencia documented. Quency who is from DC, had gotten together 10 ordinary guys from all over, and filmed the transformation from start to finish, from getting to learn drag, the walk, the heels, the talk, to the make-up, wigs and frocks, to the attitude honey. Not only were the guys all adorable, but it's fun to see them embrace drag and have the balls to get into it. You can go here to view more episodes of Quency's channel for more of the series. I enjoyed rewatching all these again.

Enjoy kids!

  4. Now those were excellent!!!! I love watching them. THIS is what I think we need other than Drag Race. THIS I would watch and find fascinating. Now you know I am going to have to watch the whole series. I also enjoyed your perspective too.

  5. OMG! So fun and they are all so adorable your right. I love the rawness and no budget of this. Feels so real, like wait for it...real reality tv. I would love a makeover for my bday of this year. How fun would that be? You could do me.

  6. I'll have to watch these when I return home. I'm sure my hotel wasn't happy about me streaming the Cubs-Padres game on my tablet last night!

  7. Excellent transformations. (Learning to walk in heels? Hilarious! but real.)
It's acting, folks. Becoming a character - each layer adds to it. When it works and it's complete, it's amazing.

    Transformidable :)

  10. I absolutely agree with you.
THIS would make any man get in touch with their masculine side, believe it or not. Creating a character is absolutely liberating. I particularly enjoyed Anatoly. Whoa.
And I love all the 'before/after' sequences!

    XOXO

  12. My very first Drag Show to attend was Boylesque in Vegas with Kenny Kerr. At that time they always had one Female assigned at Birth in the Show and you really could not discern which person it was, so many of the Drag Queens were so gorgeous I only wished I had the Face and Body to compete with that! *LOL* I'll definitely watch the Videos, I enjoyed watching The Young Prince do the transformation from Male to Female, looking more like his Mom than any of his Sisters when the transformation was complete. Funny Story, my Mom could always accurately predict what Sex your Baby was gonna be before it was Born. She told The Daughter, when preggy with The Young Prince, it's going to definitely be a Girl. She was Puzzled when it wasn't, first time ever she'd not be right... but then by Age 2 she and the rest of us said, well, you weren't Wrong either. The Young Prince from the Age of Two was definitely Transgender and preferred dressing like a Girl and wearing Makeup and Frocks that were very Feminine. I'd Love one day for you to Share some Images of when you did Drag.

    1. My mother was in utter shock the first time she saw me in drag. I was a boy, went into my room to get ready for a show and party, and came out two hours later in full drag. She couldn't believe it, but I was happy to share the moment with her. Over the years, I have shared many pictures in drag...they are scattered all over the years and a video or two here and there too.

    2. And I met to add I was familiar with Kenny Kerr. Stunning queen! Such a shame he passed on too early.

Kristoffer Hughes, the charming Druid and Welsh author, who is also Maggie Noggy, did an interview and spoke of feeling attractive for the first time ever on their first time in drag. It was a sweet moment.
