PORTRAIT OF A QUEEN

Upon getting backs from travels, I just had to watch the finale of Drag Race, and was very happy with the outcome. Is was great to see the performers of Queens, Bronx and Brooklyn getting some attention with their ground breaking styles, and who better to win..... Sasha Velour.... who pretty much nailed the season. I was also very proud of Peppermint too, she a incredible performer.

Sasha Velour is a gender-fluid drag queen and designer currently living in Brooklyn, NY. Her creative work includes drag performance, publishing, fashion, and music. She produces and stars in the drag show “Nightgowns," She is also the creative force behind Velour: The Drag Magazine, a bi-yearly publication about drag artists that has been called “unmistakably thoughtful"…with an edgy, demure, and exacting aesthetic. A huge Con-drag-u-lations to Sasha on the win!!! Nice to see a winner with a different style, be added to the winners circle.

  1. Interesting look - that long, narrow facial profile. I may have to watch the finale "on demand."

I trust you've recovered from the inter-continental trip. Now, for the next traipse out of town...I know there has to be one, right? I mean, you should fully embrace and enjoy your summer of freedom. I only wish I could be sharing some of it with you! Hugs!!!

(And, have someone keep a watch on Anne Marie while you're away. Those gin vats go empty awfully quick (you might want to think about installing another). And we won't even mention the house and pool boys!)

  3. While I adored Peppermint, Sasha really did deserve the win. Having met her, she preforms well...no death drops- a dime a dozen, no twirls, no tricks, just a magical, creative performance.

  4. HAUNTING. MESMERIZING. BRILLIANT. The intensity of this performance is palpable. I adored her on the show.

  5. Besides Jinkx, Sasha is probably my other favorite winner.

  6. She has an unmistakably unique style that really makes her stand out! and an analytical brainiac to boot! *swoon*

  7. I'm not usually a fan of the bald queens, but she's so captivating.

  8. Sasha is so creative, but I think she may be a little too artsy/brainy for most of mainstream. She's heading down the same niche as Max, Tammie Brown and the other queens who are too smart for their own good. But I do love her, great spread of Sasha.
