Welcome to My Bungalow

 Welcome to my humble bungalow!!!!!!

As I'm getting ready to depart with the Lad for New Haven for some fun , I thought I would share with you all what I have been busying myself with around here! The Casa du Borghese reminds me of Murphy Brown. Remember how she was NEVER done remodeling a place? Same thing. You find these little treasures and then you have to work them in right?  Well, lets have a look see to what's been going on, so grab a cock-a-tail from the houseboys and let's walk....... there now, are we all lit?

I have a obsession lately with sea shells. With trips to Asbury Park and Rehoboth lately, I have found some swell sea shells by the sea shore! Some are bought,  and some I found. The best time to find the really cool ones is after a storm. That there scallop shell on top I found in tact, and still sealed. This weekend you may recall the Capital Street Duo visited to deliver my big package from bondage finally. Insert your jokes here.         Anyho the package was this gem.......

Found while on last vacation for the price of $285!!!!! I was so excited and the whole kitchen was face lifted just for it, with a paint job and a new marble tile floor! Gone are the floating ledge shelves that acted as my bar, ( which my good friend and sister Mame, aka David Dust would often hit her head on!) and the cream colored floor and fern green walls. Now the new accents are this beautiful French influenced china cabinet to be my new digs as my bar!!! I still have some fine tunes and lots more hooch to add in there yet. The floor marble has hints of tan and grey to compliment the cabinet and the wall color of Nutshell added a warmer glow to the room.

My favorite nook in the place....... love how the corner turned out. The artwork on the bottom is the purchase from my co-worker,s  art show. It added a touch of whimsy and the red gives a pop of color. I love blogging, reading with a gin, and bird watching from this corner.

My apothecary jars have also been replaced with sea shells for summer.....

And a orchid bloom in a jar done by the Dame Courtney......

My other favorite place is , now clutch your pearls girls, the boudoir!!!! I have since brought in summer blooms for my vase and also added sea shells to the bell jar.....

My other find? The brass lamp from a shop called Stash, a vintage shop,  for the going price of $36! The original shade I'm trying to rework, so I have this temporary shade on currently. The lamp and old shade are also very huge on the dressing bureau so I may have to relocate the lamp.

And if I ever do another drag show and can't find my ear rings how swank will these be in a pinch?

of course one of my other favorite places to be......

But don't let the order of the bed fool you, it is the place I also act like a monkey......

The tee shirt is a gift from the Lad that says-  New Bedford Fairhaven Tackle- Where I supply Hooks, Line and Sinkers and a Good Sturdy Rod!
I love me my tee shirts !!!!

And yet more sea shells in the living room!!!

Gratuitous Buster shot just because......

I still have a few more things I working on. By time I'm done it will be ready for a fall change!!!! Now if you'll excuse me I must check on the Gardner here on the grounds....you know, to make sure he isn't forgetting to trim the corners! Maybe I'll invite him in for some cool lemonade!?!

  18. Stunning! I have said time and time again you need to get back into interior design again with this talent! I would have never thought to use the cabinet as a bar and the things you put together I never would have though. I bet the boys will love the sturdy rod and your bait!

  21. My word! It's like peeking behind that curtain and finding out the Wiz is for realz! Fascinating. It's like discovering the secrets of a rare orchid. My only beef? I thought you knew, darling... when one plays monkey, one must discard with all clothing. It frees up the blood and allows the low hanging fruit to sway and mesmerize. Thanks for the peek behind the scenes, princess. - Uptonking from Wonderland Burlesque
