Guilty Pleasure- Paloma Faith

I really some day's think the Brit's do things right. Especially when it comes to music and comedies and their fondness for fashion. Hence my newest guilty pleasure Paloma Faith. Have you heard of her? Paloma is an English singer-songwriter and actress. In 2009, she released her debut album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?, which was certified double-platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Faith was born half Spanish in Hackney to parents who divorced when she was four years old, and was later raised by her mother in Stoke Newington. As a child, Faith was encouraged to dance by her mother and took weekly ballet classes in Dalston. After completing her A-levels at City and Islington College, she went on to study for a degree in contemporary dance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Faith then went on to study for an MA in theatre directing at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, funding her studies by working various part-time jobs, which included: a sales assistant at Agent Provocateur, a singer in a burlesque cabare,t a life model and a magician's assistant.

Faith's first foray into music began when she mimicked famous soul and jazz singers including Etta James and Billie Holiday whom she admired and cites as influences for her own work. Since then in the UK she has released two albums already with a third in the works. I was recently was acquainted of her from the Dame Courtney, who I will be hosting this weekend to come think of it. Paloma hasn't caught on here yet, why, I don't know, but her voice is stunning as is her vintage image and fashion. Leave it to the Brits to put another talented female singer on the map.

Here is her release of Picking up the Pieces in her US release of the video......so damn chic! And that handsome bloke is in most of her videos with her. Reminds me of the Casa.....
