A Magicial Garden

So Sunday, I found myself left to my own devices, never a good thing, and with nothing to do, I headed to a spot in New Hope I pass on my way home from work. The Antique Market at Chestnut Grove. I have noticed it for years and was noisy enough to check it out and what a great time I had. One thing about Buck's County here is the number of antique shops on the main roads and in the back by-ways and small stone roads if you have the time and patience's to drive around. Even in downtown Philadelphia there is the expensive Antiques Row. So if you love a antiquer's market, you have come to the right place. I loved the barn at the place today...  the main building above is a converted barn, very huge, and by the looks of things,  some pirates with good taste stashed their wears in here....what a treasure trove of interior items! And I loved the policy of the barn door......only in New Hope......

Edmondo Crim, Proprietor and Antique Merchant, is the handsome force behind this magical place, is an international art and antique dealer for over 35 years, travels throughout the world, mostly in Europe, in search of highly collectible, museum quality antiques and fine art. His goal is to provide the best quality, value and selection to his customers. He exhibits at well known international antique fairs as well.  His magnificent collection of 19th through 20th century antiques and fine art are showcased and are for sale at his main location in in here Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and four other East Coast galleries. I assumed most of the clientele are people with huge estates.  But I have to admit it was like walking around like in a secret garden. The only thing needed was a chic Victorian
 era   ensemble.

This would look fabulous at the Casa......

A face off........

The icing on the cake for me though was the discovery of peacocks roaming freely! If you now me, you'll know I love me some peacock! If a had a huge estate, I'd say to codfanglers with the screeching and squawking, and have about 5-8 male peacocks running freely!!! And a plus was the pea chicks have been born and hoooooooow cute! Just the name pea chicks sounds adorable , no? I didn't know the male peacocks took 5-6 years to get that stunning tail to the color and length..

It was a nice and interesting afternoon. About the only thing I didn't see was a unicorn. Tootles!

  1. You find the most interesting places.
The Engineer grew up with peacocks in the
neighborhood - farm town in farm country.
They were not popular but nobody mistook
them for pheasants during hunting season...

    1. if necessary, my dogs can fan
      their glorious tail feathers too.

besides, peacocks are loud. my sister
has some and i almost had a heart attack
when i heard the thing shriek.

AND, i have friends in pipersville, who
hate antiques, so when i visited, we didn't.

  10. The place sort of reminds me of Hera's garden. And with the peacocks it would make sense, since in mythology the "eyes" in their feathers are supposed to be that of the Cyclops, placed by Hera, to be watchful over Zeus! Cool post!
