It seems the Mistress runs late by a couple of minutes all the time. And I'm always running late for Mondays!!!! And with all my clocks you would think I would never run late. This is just some of the many clocks scattered about my place.
The tall oval one is my newest to the collection. When I and my family were out and about in Lambertville over the weekend, my Mother went back to get the clock I put a deposit on, and surprised me. She is a swell Mother isn't she?
I don't know where my love of clocks comes from, but I know I love hearing them tick and watching the pendulums swing. One of my favorites is the greyhound with the clock in his mouth. The new one seems to fit right in with the others! I may have to move it's location though, as the ticking is really loud on it. It almost kept me up, and it's hard enough getting up on Mondays! I had a lovely weekend though, but it went to fast as usual. While in Lambertville, I did see other clocks in the antique shop that I also had my eye on.......
Loving the green jade inlay on this one.
Now if I could just find a clock to stop time occasionally to prolong the weekend, would be nice. Not all the time, just sometimes when you need just a little extra relaxation, or when your cuddled up in bed with someone! And wouldn't it be nice to moves the hands forward on the clock to make the day or week fly pass?????? And when time comes to move the clocks forward or back,it takes some time at the Casa du Borghese. By time I'm finished I need a cock-a-tail! Happy Monday everybody!!! Now on to may date.........
I always used to like going into clock shops and hearing all the ticking and chiming. But the store owners deliberating set the clocks at different times so they wouldn't all chime together. Especially those bloody cuckoo clocks!
