Well, the Mistress had the her hectic work week come to the end-finally! Everything at work is now caught up and soon we will be prepping for Christmas trim. If you remember last week I was at a prototype in White Plains, New York to set up the Christmas trim so it could be photographed for our store directives. Well when we are done with the job, a couple of us always go by way thru New York City on the way home to stop at the Adel Rootstein showroom. What is this? It's a very swank showroom where high end merchants can go to view the latest and best in mannequins. Very real looking mannequins. Adel Rootstein, who is from England and now deceased, is famous for her lifelike mannequins, lifelike to even having facial pores and covetable figures, high style poses, and expressions. For those of you who have been there know how swank and glamorous their showroom is and how difficult it is for the general public to get access to see it. Every time we go, Michael Steward gives us a very nice tour and some background information on who was the model used at the time to inspire a certain mannequin. Beyonce is up next for their up coming series. That should be a curvy figure! Well anywho, the showroom was spectacular as usual and I was left in awe -as always.
This was the fashion collection of mannequins. They are just incredible! And I always love the hair styles. The showroom is set up with very elaborate setting also. The next set of pictures in the exhibit was Garden of the Gods. I LOVED this as I love Greek mythology. The amount of the details in the displays are over the top.
And their latest creation is the life size Barbie!
I always have a good time there. If you like fashion and art it is very interesting to see. Here are two videos I found that also show more of the detail of Adel's beautiful works. Makes you wonder how they make them so real, doesn't it?
Wo! Those are amazing...and hot. Me and my BFF were shopping just the other day and totally molested a GAP manequin, but these are much better!
ReplyDeleteOh, PS- You forgot to tell everyone how pricey those Rootstein mannequins are!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a peak behind the scenes!
ReplyDeleteI'd never really thought of mannequins as an art form, but those are absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great museum show that would make.
Wow! These are awesome and beautiful! You have a neat profession!
ReplyDeleteThey are incredible!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you sure do get to see the neatness things! Those are probabley the most real mannequins I have ever seen. When I was young, I used to be scared to death of them.
ReplyDeleteWow! They look so real. I would love to see that place some time. And why do I think you will be doing some hair styles from that showroom sometime? I love the videos.
ReplyDeleteSome of those mannequins are hot looking! The male ones look like some of my friends. I like the fashion on them also. Very high style. Your job must be intresting I'm guessing. You go go to the Christmas party I can come!?!
ReplyDeleteThat was a feast for the eyes! Thanks for giving us an opportunity to see them.
ReplyDeleteI'll never look at a mannequin that same way again! Those pix were incredible - those mannies are a real work of art and should be in a museum tour.
ReplyDeleteNow that Beyonce manny, I've got to see that when it comes out. I bet people will buy them just to have in their homes!
They are pretty neat to see, but I would not want to be locked in that showrrom at night with them. They look to real. Neat to see though.
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteI will never look at mannequins the same way again. Amazing looking. And this is one thing you do in your job? Do they break easily?
