GOD LOVE TALLULAH BANKHEAD

Well, as you can see the Mistress has been collected and will start receiving soon. I must admit that on election night yours truly got so swept up in returns, news coverage, a deluge of texts, and phone calls, was harassed by my cousin for my vote choice, and then the outcome, I didn't know what had hit me. Between the election outcome, National Gin Day, and other news on tv, I think it was just so much intake and views and debating I'm over all of it. Right before bed on election night, sometime around 2:45am,who knew Tallulah Bankhead would save me and give me one hearty laugh. My answer to everything from here out will be that of Tallulah Bankhead.

"Thank God for  alcohol. It makes you all more tolerable."

and yes, I'm well aware that is Marlene Dietrich above, but her face sums up my look this week. And that fur is just fabulous!

  4. Tallulah Bankhead. The drunken brilliant woman with a line for everything. She obviously was channeling her modern day counter part to muddle you through! I too am burnt out of political talk and am avoiding some of my political blogs, news and social media for at least a week.

  10. Well I was shocked.it scare me that all branches of government now are ruled by Republicans. But what's that tells me is that the democratic votes are not happy with their party. I'm a democratic and we seriously need a better candidate next time and a over haul won't hurt either. Now how about another drink Tallulah!

    1. I do know what your saying. Many Democrats I know went nuts when Hillary won the nomination. When it came down to those two, I was like ooooooh shit, were screwed.

  14. My very favourite Tallulah story is where the weekend guest is groggily woken up by the butler proffering a large vodka. Tallu sweeps by and says "Better drink it darling, there won't be any more served until after breakfast".

  15. Tallulah may help us through from beyond the grave. Lord knows, somebody needs to because we're gonna need it. Gay bashing has begun again in earnest - with a young man beaten bloody in Santa Monica, CA, of all places. Pass the Gin, darlings...

    1. In some photos, they can look so close. Now I Joan Crawford, Tallulah and Mae West ghost could come here to haunt, I'd be a happy gay boy. As long as Crawford and Bankhead aren't having sex.

  20. I was shocked to hear Trump won. I'd though America had moved passed finally differences of color, sex sexual orientations , color. You guys are aware were in 2016 right? Last time I visited it felt very angry there. Take care

  22. I adore Tallulah Bankhead! She was always brilliant. And what a suitable line. I too am like most, couldn't stand either of them, but vote to keep a what a thought was a America coming around of acceptance. Boy I am apparently wrong. Its still all about the poweful rich white man.

    1. Thanks for stopping in Madame Redfern. Yes, I thought we'd come to some progress to. Now he is appointed loud mouthed windbags like him. I sure hope Trump owns stock in Krispy Cremes if Christie comes on board.
