STOP THE CAR!!!!!!!!!

.......

in the form of a
professor behind a controversial and heavily criticized gay parenting study is back in the headlines, this time with some eyebrow-raising claims about same-sex marriage.  Hold on to your cock-a-tails girls....

Professor Mark Regnerus of the University of Texas, of course, Texas,  at Austin claims that straight men will feel compelled to demand open relationships, as well as anal sex, from their wives and girlfriends.  "If gay marriage is perceived as legitimate by heterosexual women, it will eventually embolden boyfriends everywhere, and  a few husbands, to press for what men have always historically wanted but were rarely allowed: sexual novelty in the form of permission to stray without jeopardizing their primary relationship," Regnerus says. Now I have plenty of straight couple friends and they chuckled when they heard this. On the other hand, I also have two sets of straight married friends, one who has threesomes,  as the guy is bi, and another one that has an open relationship, and this was years before our gay marriage passing state by state currently taking place!!!!  In addition, he claims the "normalization of gay men's sexual behavior" in society will prompt a surge in the "practice of heterosexual anal sex."  The new claims come on the heels of a wave of criticism targeting Regnerus' 2012 parenting study, which raised doubts over the suitability of same-sex parents.   Darren E. Sherkat, a professor of sociology at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, called Regnerus' findings "bullsh*t," noting that the paper's loose definition of "lesbian mothers" and “gay fathers” should have “disqualified it immediately,” according to The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The American Medical Association and the President of the American Sociological Association have also put their names to documents which called Regnerus’ methodology scientifically unsound. Sounds like to me he is either wanting to plug his girlfriend, or wife in the rear if he's married, or he wants a open relationship of his own and isn't getting it, or he's just plain nuts!!!!!

  1. The closer LGBT folks come to true equality, the more twisted the opposition's logic becomes in attempting to justify their bigotry.

  2. GOOD LORD! Now mind ya, not that I would know but Straights have had open marriages for decades. In the 60s and 70s, there were "swingers" and "wife swapping" and the "car keys in the bowl" game. Many straight men and straight women engage in anal sex. In fact far more than people care to admit. Let's do the math. With gays being around 5% of the population (and not all gay couples engage in anal) and straights making up 95% of the population, then that would make sodomy a heterosexual preference that gays also engage in from time to time. Junk science is junk science, specially when it is motivated by homophobia and comes out of Texas. Mark is talking through his Regnerus

    1. Agnes, good point! Side note- I have cousins who lived in Queens Ny all their life and have moved to Texas to be near her family. After 10 years they still hate it, and are ready to move back, between the homophobia, religious nuts, and guntotalers......

  4. Calling Mark Regnerus a sociologist is disrespectful to all actual sociologists out there. He is definitely a good one for the Stop the Car collection!!!

  10. In the wake of ZERO wins on their side this year, I find their desperation enormously entertaining.

  11. So, gay men wanting to join the world of monogamous relationships is somehow going to cause straight men to want open relationships?

If that were the case, then wouldn't those men just choose to stay single like gay men are now?

    1. In fairness, though, not all SSMs are even theoretically monogamous. Mine sure isn't...and our relationship has been open for four decades. We did not get married because I wanted to join the ranks of the sexually self-limited. We got hitched because we wanted equal rights...

  12. It sounds like he has done no research on this, no interviews, no studies. That is not an academic. That is someone who is grasping at straws trying to figure out ways to convince people gay marriage is bad because those are his personal feelings. This makes one wish one could buy adult Underoos

  13. I can just picture him...
Playing tea with his gay GI Joes & Ken dolls, studying the effects of their loving relationship upon Stacey and Barbie's Skipper & their youngest, Tutti. No wonder he's so worried that Francie might end up a lesbian...

    More tea? Anyone..???

  14. Let me see if I've got this straight (as it were) -- My marrying my partner of 13 years is going to cause straight men across the country to get hungry for butt-humping.

Okay... I guess I can add that to the long list of Gay Super Powers we now have, in addition to causing floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, and tsunamis

Until they get loose and people start to believe them, then it's time to get the keys to the nuthouse and buy a bigger lock.

  17. There's nowt so queer as folk, what a bizarre set of ideas he has extrapolated from the acceptance of gay marriage in society, it just a whole cauldron of fear mongering, the sad thing is that there will always be people who can't really think very well for themselves who just tacitly nod along to rubbish like this and then start believing it.
