NOT THE MET GALA

While I was away last week and saw next to no coverage of the Met Gala, I did see a few snippets of what some wore, and what a disappointment. I did see a few who made a statement, but very few. This is the one venue to really go all out, balls to the wall, over the top, avant garde...and some looked downright plain. But what put bees in my bonnet was what the one man, who I can't stand more any other, Jeff Bezos, basically bought the gala. I'm very disappointed by that. But let's face it, this event is getting too full of itself for a bunch of entitled people. What I did like was the message labor organizer Chris Smalls did, and who was also apprehended trying to get into the Met Ball that night. Not to be out done, Mr. Smalls featured himself in a video which he had screened on the side of Jeff Bezo's residence that night. Smalls makes the connection between Bezos and Isreal and ICE. How many attendees of the ball do you think made that connection? Sadly, this stunt was heard very little about... which I thought was brilliant. And Six did a whole post on the rotten rat bastard.

He , I'm sure will now ruin the Met Gala for good as well as Vogue. I wish Anna Wintour would just make him disappear for good. She will be so sorry to see her legacy in shambles after she is gone. The man paid 10 million for the gala, got 62 billion richer since the Dump was elected, spent 500 million on a yacht to sail to his 55 million wedding in Venice to give his plastic side piece a 5 million ring, because his tax rate is less than 1%. Yet, people still give in to him and inflate his wallet by using Amazon and all it services.

And do these celebrities there make a statement by being there? Yes. It spoke volumes to me. They know who he is and what he stands for. A bigger statement would have been having the balls to declining the invitation. Sarah Paulson went to the ball in a costume designed to critique "the one precent", with a dollar bill over her eyes. Cute, but why not skip the event put on by Bezos??? She is typical "resistance liberal" making a bold statement, but they're all talk and virtue-signaling. Was this opposing glutinous billionaires or joining them? I think an equally pertinent question is how many of them care? People need to stop revering celebrities. What do they offer anymore? Half of them are more famous for being influencers, and many not even for talent or making good movies or clothes or writing good books. A huge percent of Hollywood these days doesn't even have half the talent of old Hollywood. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against how much money one has, some billionaires very few, truly get it... and do wonderful things with their money. But when you reach these heights, there is so much good one can do with the coins. And they are just so greedy and gluttonous.

  1. Kudos to Mr. Smalls! I watched a PBS documentary not long ago about N.J. Amazon workers that were trying to form a union. Amazon fired just enough employees every few months to make a certification vote impossible. That's union busting at a whole new level. And as I commented on Bob's blog, Met Gala 2026 = Versailles 1788.

You got that right sister woman!!!! How can one possibly spend all that money in one lifetime??? I have already said if I would ever win big money...I'm helping everybody out I know and all my charities! Greed and entitlement is just out of control.

  2. You're spot on, Maddie! These billionaires are sucking the life out of all of us. And I hardly recognise the 'famous' hangers-on. Time to stop following twats and buying crap from Amazon.

  3. TemuLex Luthor and his plastic wife may have bought being co-chairs at the Met Gala but they’ll never have class or taste or style.
Anna did what was better for the museum.
    , probably.

    XOXO

    1. And THATS what worries me. By doing this she has let him in the front door. Heavens forbid what he will do to the museum down the road. Like trump, everything he touches he ruins. I now worry for it's future. Like I could see him charging a huge amount to get in and cutting off the regular folk from wanting to see cool things, great works of art and learning cool facts. Mark my words......

    2. I agree. I too was surprised Anna Wintour let him have the gala ball. I always liked her and still do, but without her there now and her good intentions for the museum and protecting art and fashion... they now may go out the window. You know he will buy his way to the museum next.

  4. This is excellent!!!! I never watched the Met and it's also one reason a can't stand awards shows. Just a bunch of inflated egos in a room. But excellent post, I had not heard this yet. Amazon funds and supports genocide. Amazing funds and supports ICE. Amazon kills small business. They have vitually hurt every small business where I live. Amazon busts unions. Amazon extincts domestic factories for cheap, poo quantity foreign products.

Why are people still using Amazon?

  5. Each year, it feels more and more like we're living in a Suzanne Collins book. Half of them want to be and are ok with complicity and the other half, like Hudson Williams and Sabrina carpenter, don't realize they're props of the capitol yet. And why people keep using Amazon boogles my mind. All they are doing is helping push bad behaviors, greedy ideas and cushion a disgusting man wallet further while pumping more plastic is to his wife's body. Thank heaven they are not as prevalent here as in the US....YET.

  7. This is amazing, good for him getting that projection up there. I was saying the other day and I’ll say it again here, every single person who got dolled up, mind you, to the tune of the hundreds of thousands each I’m sure, and attended that vulgarity fest should, but sadly won’t be, ashamed of themselves.

They all know, but they care more about the power that being photographed at that event will give them! And I can proudly say I have never used Amazon or it's streaming site and won't.

  8. Bezos and his wife, Caesar Romero, are only in it for the fame and the coins and the power. That's all they care about. Anna should rethink ...
PS That's a great way to protest! I'd love to see more of that.
