IRIS & PEONY

It has been quite a rewarding spring this far in the garden at the Casa du Borghese. This week's stars of the show, and I suspect next week's, will be the peony and irises! Blooming in all their glory. I have already cut three vases of peony for the indoors, with at least another 80 buds ready to open.

And here's a overview video of the back garden...as of this morning. Forgive my video skills, I never said I was a Chi Chi LaRue with the camera, or maybe it was because of what's at the end of the video.

  2. Thank you, finding serenity and beauty in our gardens is more important now than ever. It's a good mind cleanser needed to clear out the awful happenings in our world and give us some hope for the future. And that libation on the table near the end can't hurt.

  3. Beautiful Maddie! I was humming the theme from Jaws while watching the video. My back yard consists of the living, the mostly dead and the ghosts of plants no longer with us. The purple thumb strikes again!

  6. Mistress...it is all so glorious! Your garden is stunning this spring. I too love peonies, and they actually do well here on the shoreline. I was tickle by the video...so many stars of the show as you say. And Milleson is right, your engaged in news, but good to have an outlet to put energies into and forget about the news for short time. Thanks for this post tonight, Maddie.
