In this feature, I'll share a weekly guest with you all,
and you tell me in only three words what come to mind.
Our first guest of the New Year.
In Three Words...
Herb Albert
And since we have the talent with us still at 90....why not enjoy a few of my favorites.
Time for a cock-a-tail me thinks.

Tijuana Brass.
ReplyDeleteTalented, strong, blower.
ReplyDeleteIncredible mood setter!
ReplyDeleteLove Herb Albert. William and I saw him many times perform at the Latin Casino years back. And I just saw an interview with him on CBS the Morning....at 90 just did a comeback concert and still could blow the brass.
TIMLESS Bossa Nova
ReplyDeleteIS ALWAYS HIP!
ReplyDeleteThe Tijuana Brass.
ReplyDeleteYou stole my line, LOL.
DeleteCoolest horn player. Jx
ReplyDeleteTrumpet jazz musician.
ReplyDeleteLiving Musical Legend.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite musicians. He is also one of the most successful and wealthy musicians thanks to (Tijuana Brass, hit records) and, more significantly, a shrewd entrepreneur who co-founded and built A&M Records, selling it for a huge sum, plus substantial income from music publishing, royalties, real estate, and ongoing artistic endeavors like painting and performing in jazz clubs (still), making him one of music's wealthiest figures. He is brilliant and smart.
Compassion, Creativity, Philanthropist.
ReplyDeleteGlorious, Sounding, Music!
ReplyDeleteLove His Music
ReplyDeleteOnly vague memories
ReplyDeleteTaste Of Honey
ReplyDeleteLake Orion Memories
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt had a house on the lake, that was where I first heard his music, in the living room looking out through the pine trees to Dollar Bay.
Handsome (IMO, in his time), easy-on-the-ear.
ReplyDeleteWhipped Cream Album.
ReplyDeleteThat cover was racy for the times!
Look Of Love!
ReplyDeleteHe did the soundtrack to the 1960's "Casino Royale" with David Niven (and Peter Sellars, etc.) as James Bond and Orson Welles as LeChiffe!
