NOVEMBER FROST

It was the perfect day. Today I awoke to a beautiful foggy, frost laden morning. I love a foggy morning, but when they occur in the autumn, they are especially pretty and peaceful.

And looks like my last rose and cassia have been numbered.

    1. I have always said the cold keeps one young and pulled tight! As in less wrinkles. LOL!

    2. I remember that Rhoda eventually moved to Minneapolis “because it’s cold there and [she] figured [she’d] keep bettah.”

    3. I vaguely remember Rhoda. I was about a wee one but I absolutely love watching the reruns.

    5. Bizarrely, we never got The Mary Tyler Moore Show over here, but we did get Rhoda - and I loved it! Mainly because Nancy Walker was in it, I think. Jx

    6. Oh, sorry you didn’t get to experience The Mary Tyler Moor Show. But, Nancy Walker in anything was worth it.

    1. I actually don't mind the cold, for a change...but it after New Years it gives me a good excuse to hibernate!

  4. The frost season is way too brief. Feels like we went from frost to icy cold in about a week. I'm not complaining; the lawn has gone dormant, the leaves are down and have already more or less been mulched in to give the soil a good hit of nutrients for the winter.

Thanksgiving weekend, Santa arrives. Time to contemplate hauling the decorations out for December.

    1. I'm not sure exactly where you're at, but this week we're supposed to go into the mid to high 50s again possibly close to 60 one day. Talk about a yo-yo.

  5. We had a beautiful frost this morning that glittered in glorious sunshine. So pretty, but as Raybeard says, nicer to be indoors looking out!

  7. Yes, this is what it was like, though thicker here in the hills.

  8. It’s very foggy here today. With weather advisory and all.
It’s been kinda humid too. I guess it comes with the territory.

    XOXO

  11. Your climbing roses should be alright. We had a hard frost here last night and most ground plants have pegged it.

    1. Not enough, Mads. We had several sharp frosts in May and I bought some new T shirts and "borrowed" The Man's fleece jacket!

  14. Grim. We've had a cold snap, too - it actually snowed when we were in Portsmouth (on the South Coast of England)! And since we have been back, there have been some very cold nights indeed. Some plants are definitely suffering... Jx

    1. Same, but as I say that, I see our forecast is now slated to go back into the high 50's, maybe 60 a day or two!
