PRESIDENT'S DAY WEEKEND IN HARRISBURG

Happy President's Day!!!!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend, and must apologize for being gone so much.  I don't know where winter and my cocooning went...I think, right out the window. Then the weather was unbelievably warm ....in the high 60"s and is to continue all this week. Today, I'm off for the holiday and IT was much needed after my Roanoke moving adventure with the Lad. The lifting wasn't bad, but it gets hard to get anything done I reckon if you can't keep your eyes off his lovely backside!!! Upon getting back, I had work for two days, then it was off to visit my very good friends, the Capital Street Duo for the Dame's birthday. I always enjoy going to visit them. Not only are they always fun and entertaining, but the Dame has one hell of a interesting and lovely home. As a regular reader here, I'm sure you have seen the snaps I have taken there before. A good time was had by all.  The Dame had invited 21 people for dinner at one of my favorite Harrisburg places, Rubicon.
Rubicon is a playfully French inspired, bar-centric restaurant, offering honest epicurean fare. Their meals are prepared with fresh, locally grown produce, and their cock-a-tails are all very tasty and original. The atmosphere is very fun, elegant, with featured art work and house music being played. Definitely a good spot for a birthday celebration. I always said the Dame had good taste.

And I love a place that had my gin and tonic waiting for me.....
After dinner it was off to the 704 Lounge for a 20 a couple cock-a-tails, where the birthday celebrations continued. It was so warm out, even at 11pm, we had drinks on the rooftop! But the dear Dame was ready to retire around 12:30. Hey, it's hard to keep up with the Mistress's gin bath swims!!! And here are a few glimpses of the beauty and quirky at the Capital Street Duo's.....
Is it a wonder I feel like I'm at Downton Abbey?

These peacocks are very old antiquities and are stuffed with arsenic!!! Don't cross the Dame!

You mean you don't have a compote filled with glass light bulbs?

Beautiful stain glass in the bathroom...with big balls in the window box.
A new edition to the bath....a shadow box of vintage medicine bottles and tonics. Anything and everything that ails you.
Their house dog Philly, named after the Philadelphia Phillies. He is a sweet dog.
These were waiting for me in my boudoir when I arrived.

I couldn't help but wonder if Mr. DeVice has been a guest here too????
A cute pull toy from the early 1920's.
Me and my gams in a twin bed in my boudoir there! Me in a twin!!!! Thanks goodness I didn't have company!!! I also told the Dame she needs to replace my house coat there on the door hanging with a bigger one. It looks ridiculous when I get up in the night to get a drink, and there I am with a half coat on with my bare ass and jewels on display.

  26. Looks like a great weekend. And to have your own official room there to let it all hang out. But if you come here, your house will be even shorter. Wait....what house coat. They do have a cool place.

  27. What a magnificent home. I love me some antiques and could probably explore there house for a couple hours. They should be a proud of there home. Sound like the birthday was a smash.

  28. I'll have to remember the short house coat trick for when you visit. I'd not mind at all catching you at the bar late at night with all on display.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, dear mistress, I have seen the bare ass and jewels...and IMHO they are well worth putting on display - particularly in the night with a bit of, ahem, "lift in the flagpole." Keep the short housecoat! Hugs!!

  30. Who knew people actually had these types of furnishings in there home? Not my style but cool to see....very elegant. It was rather warm this weekend....we may need more underwear shots.
