BLUE ITALIAN

Now you're probably wondering what this queen is up too posting about bone China. No... it's not about an Asian trick with some hard bone!!! That's my date next week. In a post the other day when I featured a chuckle about my new dinnerware arriving, Debs made a comment about it looking like that of the dinnerware from the scene in the Birdcage. If I recall, I remember the characters all trying to first distract the guest of the subject matter of the pattern and coming up with stories about the pattern and scene. It brought back memories of years of debate and talk over my late aunt, the good chef...her own dinnerware. She and my uncle got a beautiful dinnerware collection when they married, over 70 years ago from Spode, called Blue Italian.

It all started when her kids were all teenagers, right up to the present, and even right before her last meal before passing from her riotous son. On the center of the plate there is what appears to be a lady on her knees, and peering into the water. But the speculation was what was the guy doing?  After copious drinks from cock-a-tail hours, you can imagine what was suggested by the kids and I to her dismay, for dinner talk. Some thought he was getting ready to spear her dead for her family fortune. Another was he was just going to outright murder her and take her clothes and become a cross dresser. Another was he was preparing her for a blow job, and another was he was going to knock her out, flip her bell shirt up and have his way. Another cousin suggested he was going to flip her in the water, since she couldn't swim, and she would drown. Yet another said the man had a pet crodile and she was going to be the main course. And it went downhill from there. Even the poor animals couldn't escape the story, sadly. Even the Lad once asked why my aunt had dinner ware with a man getting ready to stab a woman on it!!!! And was the body ever found?

I mean something is definitely getting ready to happen here. But the pattern is actually very iconic. Blue Italian was launched in 1816 and has been in production with Spode ever since. It features a finely detailed 18th century Imari Oriental border encompassing a scene inspired by the Italian countryside. Steeped in history and mystery, Blue Italian was created amid Britain's Industrial period by Spode's son Josiah Spode II. The exact origin of the design remains unknown despite the efforts of collectors and historians. I mean, all they have to do is ask anyone in my family, and we can tell them. I mean its pretty obvious that the guy is her late dead husband, come back as a ghost for her, who for murdering him for his money, and land and being a ho with his brother. She can't sense him, but all the animals can see him plainly. She is doomed kids! Curtains I say. Two weeks ago, when my cousins were here my uncle had dinner, and the plates came out like always. And the stories started. I'm sure my late aunt was rolling in her grave; God rest her soul.

Don't you wish you could become someone else for a day? How about a celebrity even? Well apparently, this is no struggle for make-up artist and queen Aurelio Sanchez who has closed down drag shows with his jaw dropping transformations into some pretty famous divas. Aurelio uses his skills to transform into some of the most famous entertainers of the world, and yet his work is so eerily realistic, it seems hard to notice that it's not the celebrities themselves. Needless to say, his social media has blown up, and he's leaving quite the mark on the drag circuit with his looks. I follow him on his Instagram. I dare say his Cher may even be better than that of Chad Michaels. Aurelio is always influenced by everything around him and wants to keep learning and growing as a person and an artist. He says the hardest part to the transformations is taking it all off, as he really enjoys the looks, and it can take hours to transform and sometimes weeks to prepare for a shoot or a drag show, so he tries to enjoy the final result as much as possible. Of course, the most challenging part is not the make-up itself, but the process and essence of creating a character and delivering the illusion of the person as close as possible. I can believe that. I always hated taking the make-up off after being in drag, as it never ceased to amaze me how different I looked in drag, and friends always loved it too. It's crazy what just make up can do. But this is other level.  It's truly amazing and I have not been left yet with my jaw closed with his looks. And just how freakin' hot is he? That smile!!! Aurelio could show me more than just make up tips!!! Yes he could!

No wonder all the houseboys want on cleaning duty around here!

On a side note, the clan used to have a friend in our group we called Hoover, for his suction abilities.

About the video? MOOD BOARD

 

As you can see, the Mistress is still in bed. LOL!!! I wish! It is beyond me yet why we haven't declared a four-day work week yet???? Mondays should be a metal health day I say! And off limits. The worst things seem to happen on Mondays. Like what you ask? Well, I'm sure they do, work with me here as I'm trying to sell this idea see. On top of that it's yet drizzly and very overcast again. Someone throw me a Bloody Mary, a South American and some inhalation beads, that would be a heavenly day back in bed. Thank heavens it was a low-key weekend, dinner out twice, Mother Days and watching the birds flying to and fro with building materials for nesting. We have one family of robins already. But a no go in the gardening this weekend, to rainy. So there's that.

MOTHERS

No matter the kind, shape or form, our Mother's shape and form us for the life ahead and have a role in how we turn out. Whether we are lucky enough to still have our mothers, or our mothers have passed on, we will always have them with us no matter what. Some of us even have surrogate mothers or mother figures that have had inspiration for others of us. We don't need a special day to tell then we love them but I'm actually happy there is that day to give just a extra special day to give them the thanks they deserve.  I took my mother out for dinner Friday evening, as she bitched and screamed to not go to any special lengths, but I said Ahhhhh pipe down. I then took her shoe shopping yesterday since she said she needed some new shoes... and let her pick out three pairs of shoes since she never goes. She hates shoes shopping. I may have even tried on a pair or two of heels myself! Nice to stay in practice. Here's too all the Mothers today, and to all my readers, who are Mothers, and my usual commenters like, the Dogs Mother, Helen, Savvy, Nations, Agnes, Janie, Dawn, Jennifer, Melanie, Duchess Deedles, Christina and Shirley, I hope you all know how much your appreciated and loved, and such inspirations. Here's to all the Mothers!

When I came across this Italian Delight, it shocked me that yet another man, other than one of South American decent took my breath away. You know me foreign and domestic men are my two favorites. I don't know if he's a man I'd date, but I'm not opposed to a few fun filled nights that is for sure. Andrea Moscon could whisper his Italian sweet nothings in my ear all night. He hails from the Northern part of Italy. Now at 27, he's been a model in the fashion and cosmetics arena, and a soccer player. But these days can also be seen in a huge amount of twitter accounts showing more sides to him, one big side of him....on his one main one here. Who am I to argue with that? I love a teasing man that isn't shy. He is also aging very nicely...looks great with a bit of a mustache and beard too, if you can get pass his other "asset" Remind me to book a trip to Italy.

If morning coffee always looked like this, I might like morning more. Not to mention get me out of bed faster!
