CHRISTMAS EVE

One of my favorite days of the year, Christmas Eve. There is just something about this day, a calmness of sorts, That I love. This year just about all the decorations are family heirlooms, or decorations I remember us using when I was a wee one, or bits and bobs that were gifted to me. Shiny-Brites, Christmas Pyramids, Swedish chimes, bottle brush trees, and many items bringing about memories of my grandmothers. Tonight, we'll enjoy a dinner of crab imperial. Followed by later in the night the family recipe of egg nog, lighting of the Christmas pyramids, and settle in the watch a Christmas Carol.

Christmas Spirits of Past, Present and Future!
Ready for a long winter's nap? Yep!

It's not about the gift giving, let's remember. Enjoy time with family or friends, enjoying the company of loved ones, good food, and wonderful spirits!!! The scents and smells of the Christmas holiday. May you all have a magical, wonderful, and memorable Christmas. Thank you all, longtime friends, new readers, reader out there in the dark, thank you for your constant kind and funny words and for visiting the Casa du Borghese- truly grateful for all our online friendships. To all of us everywhere, a Happy Christmas to us all my dears.

"L🎄VE & J🎄Y  TO All!

Dearest Mistress, I will hate to see Miss Paulette Goddard leave us at the top of the blog. However you choose to celebrate this evening and tomorrow, make it all about the people, not the products. Make it about the bonds we share, not the bitterness in our midst. Make it about the meals we enjoy, not the misguided mindset of millions. Make it about the spirits we sip and savor, not the sadness looming in the coming year. Make it about the quiet times with beloved friends, not the quasi-sincerity of others. Make it about maintaining love of community, connection, commonality and caring. Make this a better world with the power we have been given to recognize the difference between love and hate, truth and lies, morals and immorality. ethics and dishonesty.
    Happy Holidays, Happy Everydays
