DRAG RACE GIRLS.....C L A T
New York City's finest queens were a HUGE presence on season 9 of RuPaul's Drag Race, with four of the year's 14 contestants coming from the five boroughs. That NYC season 9 quartet -- Peppermint, Alexis Michelle, Sasha Velour and Aja -- teamed up with DJ Mitch Ferrino for "C.L.A.T.," a sickening house track with an arresting video that Billboard is premiered a week ago. And C L A T stands for club, legend, art, theater. Rather catchy......

GRANDE DAME
If your living in New York City, or were/are involved in the club scene, then you know this fabulous fixture of the city. I can remember seeing her shows at the Monster, which were always very entertaining.
Peppermint, is an American actor, singer, and drag queen. Peppermint often performs with Adam Joseph, Cazwell, Jonny McGovern, and Sherry Vine. Peppermint, who originally hails from Harrisburg PA, and then Delaware, started performing in drag as Peppermint at Tunnel's Kurfew parties.Peppermint rose to become a fixture in New York City nightlife and started recording music in 2005 for Jonny McGovern's mixtape Jonny McGovern Presents: This is NYC, Bitch! The East Village Mixtape. He contributed the song, Servin' It Up," The song was later released as Peppermint's debut single in 2006. Peppermint was featured in the web series Queens of Drag: NYC by gay.com, which was a intriguing series with a peak into the lives of several of New York's finest in 2010. Click on the link in the tags to take you to those shows. In 2011, Sherry Vine and Peppermint released a parody of the Lady Gaga and Beyoncé song "Telephone," titled "Make Me Moan." Following the viral success of the music video, Peppermint later released other parody songs, including a parody of Azealia Banks' song "212," titled "21/12." Peppermint's song "If I Steal Your Boyfriend" was used in the 2011 film Eating Out 5: The Open Weekend, which contrary to popular belief is not about my weekends!!!! Wait and see if this queen doesn't end up on Drag Race yet!!!!

The Queens of Drag:NYC
Let the wig-ripping begin!

It looks like a second coming of drag again. First RuPaul will be back with a whole new cat clawing cast of queens in a second season of the RuPaul's Drag Race set to air in Febuary and now another new show is set to begin filming. Producers and reality tv stars join forces to create drag queen comedy with THE QUEENS OF DRAG: NYC. Film and TV producer Larry Kennar (L Word, Barbershop and 50 First Dates), season 4 Project Runway designer Jack Mackenroth and award-winning producer/director and owner of Colt Studio Group, John Rutherford, have come together to produce a television extravaganza called The Queens of Drag: NYC that explores and exploits the glamorous and ghetto-fabulous drag queen scene of New York City.

Drag legend Lady Bunny will reign supreme in this all-star cast of drag divas, which includes the ageless and evergreen Hedda Lettuce

uber-glam Sherry Vine

the hilarious Bianca Del Rio

In addition to these divas, they will be joined by sexpot songstress Peppermint and the classless and campy Mimi Imfurst. Newer, breakout queens nipping at their platform heels like Epiphany, Logan Hardcore, Chanda Lear and Dallas DuBois will join these ladies of illusion. The Queens of Drag: NYC will highlight all the talent and drama that is synonymous with making a living as a drag superstar in the most amazing and unforgiving city in the world. Viewers will see the real grit of drag queens’ lives in and out of drag as they try to dominate the New York nightlife scene and navigate through the struggles of making it in the shiniest, filthiest city in the world. I think it will be great. It will show some people a whole new lifestyle and just how long it takes to get ready, not to mention how hard it is for these queens to be paid to do this for a living. Multiple networks have already expressed interest in the project, and filming is slated to begin in early November. To read more and get some information, please visit www.theQueensofDrag.com.
