SHOWTIME

This weekend brought about many treats since coming home. It was a drag feast for the eyes. Seems all the queens were coming all at once to the city of brotherly love. Friday night was the brilliant Sasha Velour. Every gay man and gay friendly person should have to see Sasha perform. Simply put, the queen is a genius ,and is doing things I have never seen being done before. Sasha is not only brilliant, but her wardrobe is jaw dropping, lip synchs are tightly done, and he is welcoming and sweet as hell. The things is his show Nightgowns is great, but Smoke and Mirrors is even more theatrical and magical then the prior mention. Not only does Sasha lip synch to some great standards, but his graphic artist background for effects is pheromonal.
This was part of a number where Sasha's dress that looked like a tree continues to metaphases into a full tree by special effects.

But my favorite routine was where we thought we saw Sasha get into a box and get sawed in half...only to be revealed it was all hologram!!!!! Then the "magician" turns out to be Sasha!!! Sasha is way beyond many queens out there, and to me is really being drag to a whole new level. Poetic, artistic and brilliant. I highly recommend this show if it comes to your neck of the woods.
After the show with Olive d'Nightlife.
Last night was ugly. Another show, and if you saw, brought about Lady Bunny in the train station on Sunday morning. YIKES! Sunday night it was off to the Filmore for a full on debauchery fest!
This outrageous, traveling stage show has become a staple of the season, with it's magical and hilarious evening filled with holiday performances, many adult themed, of course. I wanted to go to catch up with Bunny, Nina and Roxxxy. But all these queens are something, and I great bunch! I just fell in love with Shuga Cain even more!!! It was much needed debauchery after a long business trip away.
A fun number with Roxxxy and Latrice. Latrice looked amazing...I suspect because her hubby Christopher was traveling with them. Bunny will have him corrupt by the end of this trip.
Roxxxy, who I will forgive, did THAT FUCKING Mariah Carey song. 'llI give it to her...she knew the lyrics better then Mariah!!!!
When does Manilla NOT bring down a house?
Thorgy was up to her usual colorful antics, Her volin number later was amazing.
Of course the piece de la resistance at most of these things is my favorite queen, the foul mouthed, debach filled, booze hound, sex crazed queen Lady Bunny!!!! Is it any wonder I love her? Bunny nor only did her usual Laugh In style routine, but also a version of Vogue that insulted almost every queen..ever...on Drag Race including Ru herself, but later did a story time, with the audience. Twas the Night Before Christmas, of course this was the Bunny version!!!!
Some candid's backstage. Thorgy is really a sweet heart

Roxxxy is waiting and ready to be the next Philadelphia Sports mascot. I hear the Borghese Houseboys Mud Wrestling is looking for a mascot gurl!
And Bunny arranged all this bitches for a group shot.
And my old and new love, Nina and Shuga Cain! Nina is the lovely hostess for every stop of this tour. Quite amazing she is!!!! Considering she will be doing this every night till January and still keep it fresh, funny and smiling. Nina is a lovely soul. And Shuga's energy is contagious.
After the show most of the queens and the crowd hit the gayborhood for drinks...which is where it all went down hill. Today was ugly. Someone threw me under a Mac truck I believe, or under Latrice!!!! Bunny and her damn shots. Thank goodness my friend John drove me home and got me in bed. And the way I see it, Bunny now owes me a half days pay for leaving early!!!!! Bitch.  A Drag Queens Christmas is coming to a city near you hopefully. I know I have readers in Atlanta, San Fran, Chicago, St.Louis and LA. The girls were telling me, they are all on every stop, with exception to Roxxxy. When she is not present, the fill in queen is either Willam, Scarlett Envy or Shea Coulee. The tour dates are here.

If you need holiday cheer, then this is your ticket.

GO FISH

While the fans may have expressed their extreme dismay at the star’s elimination, Luzon is clearly taking it in stride in her new video for "Go Fish."

The Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland-inspired video starts with Luzon, clad in her Queen of Clubs outfit she was sent home in, playing a card game against her eliminator, Naomi Smalls, dressed as the villainous Queen of Hearts. While the remaining queens are fun and no doubt look great, let's be queer, this crown win should have gone to Manilla, or go to Trinity, since they truly will take to the platform the style, performance, and a good clear message and the complete package.  I loved Ru's appalled look when Trinity announced the elimination of Latrice!!!! And while I think Naomi is fierce, lets face it, outside the drag realm she is forgettable. People don't seem to remember her. But that's another story. After being expelled from the game by a maniacal Smalls, Luzon continues living her best Wonderland fantasy, including a game of flamingo croquet with the BELOVED  Heathers, her former power group she formed on Drag Race season 3 with fellow competitors Raja, Delta Work and Carmen Carrera, who looks fabulous and radiant after her transition. Leave it to Manila to pit together another great creation!

Do who doesn't like dancing bunnies with big baskets?

IM BEGGING, DON'T TAKE MY MAN

How's about a funny Sunday ditty!!! Dolly Parton's legendary "Jolene" covered by some of our favorite queens, serving iconic Dolly lerwks, among them Ginger Minij, Manila Luzon, Alaska, Bebe Zahara Ben dela Crème and Katya. And as the Mistress would sing..... "Jolene, Jolene, Jolene.. I'm begging of you.... please don't take my men."
And did Bebe not get the memo it was a Dolly Parton song and homage?  I'm sorry my dear, but your up for elimination.

Drag Queen's World

Friday night found me at the Raven Resort with the Professor to meet for  some libations, and on the video screens were all the videos playing to the dance ditty playing. When Cher's new video for Woman's World came out it was filled with a cadre of everyday women, but then Cher decided to do a all drag version that came out the end of last month, and I caught it. Have you seen it?

Any drag queen worth her Louboutins gives praise daily for the one and only Cher, I know she on my cross of wood hanging.... so it’s only fitting that some of our favorite queens are appearing in a very special video for the Dark Lady’s latest hit, “Woman’s World.” The girls have been hard at work making the fantastic new video—each will embody one of Cher’s immortal incarnations—

Shangela

 Willam

Manila Luzon

and of course, you can't miss...

Take a gander, what a fun video. What do you think of this drag-tastic tribute?

Draggin at My Wild Tea Party

Well, no one more than me, is glad to put this week to bed!!! So if you'll just hush, I'll explain my absence. Between regular work duties, a huge store visit, training a new assistant, and last weekend, the ex- Boy Toy had emergency appendix surgery, so my little Buster Bolfig Borghese has been with me ever since!!! The highlight last week was a charity drag show for Philadelphia AIDS Thrift, which is incorporated in Pennsylvania as a non-profit business. They are also a federally recognized tax-exempt charitable organization. Their mission is to sell the lovely, useful and interesting stuff generous people donate to their thrift store and then distribute the proceeds to local organizations involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and to hospice aids houses. Miss Miriam Webster talked the Mistress to coming out of retirement, in a rare appearance, for the event, and in addition, Miriam also hooked up the Drag Race tour with the show , which brought a huge amount of funding in! Present were Raja, Manila Luzon, Carmen Carrera,Nina Flowers, Morgan McMichaels, Yara Sofia, and Raven! All of which except for Yara were much taller than I expected, but all very stunning and sweet as pie!

And then there was the Philadelphia queens. Here is Miriam Webster and Satine Harlow. These girls are part of Mimi Imfurst's The Dollhouse Revue at Voyager on Wednesday nights. Mimi's is really bringing quite the drag show with the Dollhouse!

Miss Porcelain and Missy Maven on the right. Rumors are abounding about Missy for a possible Drag Race season 6 dragtestant!

I have no idea who the last drunken harlot is.

The show was a huge success and raised much needed funds for further operations. Now the Mistress is tucking everything away again till next time. I had forgotten how much time it takes for make-up, pulling in, layering, hair in place , and the minding of carrying your self proper all night. The fabulous feather hat was a huge thank you to the creative talents of Christian Marcus David Millner! Tootles till later lambchops!!!!

Grande Dame....Manila Luzon

Manila Luzon is the Asian Glamasaurus whose fashion & beauty garner the attention of everyone in the room. A party girl at heart, Manila is found all over the New York City club scene in some outrageous creations: kimonos made of Ramen Noodle wrappers, or in some fierce drag such as sequined gowns. A staple to the City's nightlife for the last six years, you know it's a worthwhile party if this bitch pumps through with a half dozen stuffed Hello Kittys in her updo. Originally from Minneapolis, Manila began on the stage of The Gay 90s. Soon after a fresh-faced start, she moved to New York City. Never one to shy away from attention, Manila began to cultivate unique looks that made riding the subway from her apartment in the Bronx a visual all-you-can-eat-buffet! She is also the better half of NYC's power drag lesbian duo, Manila Luzon has been dating the infamous Sahara Davenport from RuPaul's Drag Race Season 2 for years and years! The two are usually seen together at the gayest of spots holding each other's hands and each other's drinks! The couple was even featured in the New York Times "What Happens When Drag Queens Date Drag Queens." You may also remember Manila was the 1st runner-up on the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race against Raja. You can get all the tea about Manila and her appearances where abouts from her fabulous website.

And check out her new, long awaited single Hot Couture! It's actually pretty good! And I do remember young drag queens starting out like this!!! My mother was relieved. You may also recognize Miss Jiggley Caliente in a scene.

Meet the Dragtestants 3

Now y'all don't forget that RuPaul's Drag Race starts from the gun shot this Monday on Logo. Here is what the Mistress thinks on the final three dolls!

Manila Luzon
Manila is one of the ones who bothered me the most, for one reason. Manila is Sahara Davenport’s (from season 2) BOYFRIEND! REALLY RU? REALLY?!? You COULDN’T find a Queen that wasn’t directly involved with one of your former contestants? I can’t help but think that Sahara had something to do with this. Either way, she seemed cute in the interview, but right away was blah. She and Sahara are beauties but a little too boring.

Phoenix-
Phoenix belongs the Atlanta’s House of Brooks (Yes…Nicole Paige Brooks’ belongs too) and I believe is one of her “daughters”. Phoenix has been around forever, and I have seen and heard of her for years. She did a stint in LA for a while and then went back to ATL. One thing that I noticed, and I HOPE this doesn’t get me into trouble but I wonder if sister got her lips done in the last little while. They are HUGE! She might be another of the Love or Love to Hate Queens this season. She will be good for the show though, but I don't think she will win this.

Raja-
Do you recognize Raja? I do!!! Raja, aka Raja Sutan Amrull used to be the makeup artist on Top Model! She even dressed up as Raja during the Thailand season, and she was impersonating Tyra Banks…you with me? R I'll be honest-Raja is FIERCE! Like UBER FIERCE! She is the Italian Vogue/Fashion Queen. This bitch doesn’t tolerate a heel lower than 5 inches, and her favourite is the 6 inch heel. Seriously. She has been doing drag for 20 years, and I believe is the oldest as per her interview, on this season. Raja is my Top of the Top. She will be in the finals, if not the top three to win! She is a fierce performer, she is super sweet, has a sickening look. And as a boy I think he is very cute! If I was a betting gal, she is one of three I would put my money on. So what do you think?
