GIN, GIN, GIN......

GIN across the board!!!!!

Thank  goodness it's almost Friday! It has been a hectic week, hence my random postings and commenting. Your see dears, this week in New Hope was the kick off of a run of charity shows, created by moi.

Myself, Miriam Webster, Pumpkin and Lavish DuJour had a show each night, separately at a different drinking establishment, and drunks guests could pick their location each night. One queen was at each location, and then we rotate locations each night. Each night is a different location for us. It is sort of along the lines of a restaurant week, but with queens. Between organizing and performing, it has been exhausting children. How these queens do this nightly and a day job is beyond me. I don't know how I used to do it!!!! So far it's been a huge success. The monies are going to another local queen , and her lover, who is battling his HIV bills and costs, falling on hard times, and losing their house to a flooding accident. We have gotten a very good reception, and the show's name alone was entertaining because many thought the Mistress would face planet from all the gin!!! I had one guy who followed me to my new location each night. Between you and I , I think we was hoping to get a piece! He said he was attracted to my scent. I told him it was a new perfume I was wearing for summer called Diving Buddy. A mixture of rose water, lavender and tuna. Really attracts the men I tell you. The most interesting place so far was the motorcycle crowd at John and Peters, a delightful little fire trap of a joint. I think it made a for a more exciting evening...who's gonna make it out of this joint if it goes up! And then there was the Bowman Hill Tavern. a much older crowd here, they mostly looked like Colleen Dewhurst,  you know, looked like they been through a few really bad Nor'easters. You known weathered. Seasoned, like my mother's cast iron skillet...but were they ever receptive. Of course Miss Moorecock was no where to be found. But I'm not to worried. About two months ago I took her to the vet and had a chip put in her, so I'm not to worried. But the show has went amazing and some of the establishments want us to do five more shows!!!!! We shall see. Last night I was already exhausted. 

Wednesday night with Lavish and a crowd goer. Don't I just looked thrilled?!?!? And it all started last week with special guest Chad Michaels who was at the Raven for an pit stop. 

Am I the only one appreciating her doing Cher from the Mama Mia movie?

So there was that. Gotta run , more later.

GRANDE DAME....CHAD MICHAELS

Chad Michaels is a drag performer who hails from San Diego, California and is most well known for her near perfect impersonation of Cher. She is currently the head of the Dreamgirls Revue and has been performing in drag for about 21 years. She is currently in a long term relationship with her partner Adam, who she has been with for 12 years. She originally competed in the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race where she reached the finale but lost out to the season's winner, Sharon Needles. However, she returned for RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race later that year and won. But here's a fun tidbit...... Her name used to be Brigitte Love! She did an impersonation of Annie Lennox,  but people said she looked like Brigitte Nielsen. She always felt that she didn’t identify with a female name. She moved to Las Vegas in 1997 to work with La Cage, and the show required each entertainer to be introduced at the end of the show by their male name. Chad Michael is her real first and middle name, and she added ‘s’ for good measure. She didn’t want to be Chad Michael like George Michael. The name just stuck and she thinks it’s more appealing to a larger market like ‘Chad Michaels as Cher’.  The fabulous drag queen Hunter was her drag mother.

Drag Queen's World

Friday night found me at the Raven Resort with the Professor to meet for  some libations, and on the video screens were all the videos playing to the dance ditty playing. When Cher's new video for Woman's World came out it was filled with a cadre of everyday women, but then Cher decided to do a all drag version that came out the end of last month, and I caught it. Have you seen it?

Any drag queen worth her Louboutins gives praise daily for the one and only Cher, I know she on my cross of wood hanging.... so it’s only fitting that some of our favorite queens are appearing in a very special video for the Dark Lady’s latest hit, “Woman’s World.” The girls have been hard at work making the fantastic new video—each will embody one of Cher’s immortal incarnations—

Well, well well... it's time to announce the winners of the FABULOUS DRAG Coffee Table Book. It's been a long day of shopping, and upon getting back to the Casa, I fixed a cock-a-tail, forgetting the names were in the shaker!!!!!! But none the less, the gin soaked names pulled were.................

Due to some unforeseen work schedule changes, and after some heads roll, I'll be back later in the week when things calm down and my gin level is back up. In the meantime, take a gander at Chad Michaels in one of his shows as Joan Crawford!!!! He is pure genius, foregoing a usual lip sync!

Rupaul- "Bring Me My Girls" The New Season

The fourth season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" promises to the biggest, baddest and, of course, most fabulous yet and is slated to begin in January of 2012.January is still a only about a month away, which means it’s not long to wait to find out who will follow in the footsteps of Bebe Zahara Benet, Tyra Sanchez and Raja and win the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” on the eagerly-awaited show. Let’s talk about the season 4 contestants shall we? Well, their is no doubt going to be comparisons going on now that we have 3 seasons in the clutch. And Ru as chosen some queens with some very creative looks and stylings that is for sure. One thing to note Chicago, IL and Flordia are well represented! I am famailiar with some and happy they made the cut.
