ANOTHER PRIDE

This past weekend was the last Pride event for me for the season. I always get asked by many just why does Harrisburg always have their Pride Event so late when it's at the hottest?  Not sure for certain, but I have been told they don't have it in June, the official Pride month, because they fear with Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore and DC'S, it will compete and loose some pride goers if it ends up on one of those weekends in bigger cities. Luckily the weather was a winner this past weekend, as some of the clan and I hit the parade and festival. It is held at the Capitol building, and the surrounding area. I enjoyed some of it, then we went to lunch, and then later had to get to the club to start getting ready for the Pride show, and making sure Sigourney Beaver, one of the headliners, got there, and was treated to some hospitality. And I'm here to tell you children she is ever the crazy bitch and filled with stories!!!! I was treated to one gem, where she was at a show once, and she thought what would be the thing to gross out all the gay men? That's right...MEOW! Vagina! Well, at this said show she pulled out a blow pop from her, ah, well, MEOW....and stuck it right in the gaping mouth of a guy in the front row!!!!! Now there is something you won't see on Dragula! The whole weekend went off without a hitch, the show and the festival. Plus there was Discord Adams too! Needed to say, Sunday. Was. Ugly. Some scenes from the weekend.

Discord, Cody, one of our gang, and don't bully him, he cums.... and Sigourney Beaver.

And this dudo bird...your hostess with the mostess!!!!

Yes, I'm still picking out feathers!!!!! But I HUGE THANK YOU to Fat Sissy, AKA Miss Bill for the creation and making of this spectacular ensemble!!!  The headdress almost went down to the floor in back....he nailed the Mistress's over the top style. I always did like to keep it understated you see.

Happy Gay Pride!

GLAMPING POSTCARDS

My walk of shame walk back to my site at 6am.

Some glamping postcards! Last weekend found me at the Woods campground hosting the Drag Me To the Woods weekend, where everyone who wanted to do drag could do so, and then hosting a huge dance party in the clubhouse that night. Over hundred people donned drag! It was a good weekend as usual in this slice of gay fairy land.
Fort Dix, the naughty bath house, or as I call it, the head shed! I wouldn't know ANYTHING about what goes on in there of course.

The drag party and just some of the queens! Yours truly is off dead center in the black and sky high piled blond wigs under the left Woods sign. Never mind two wigs on and it was over 90 degress!!! But some of these guys were a hoot and we camp queens helped them with drag.

And then there was this tall, towering drink of water! I asked how tall he was, and he said "Well Madam, I'm 6'9" tall. I said, " Well...never mind the 6 feet,, let's talk about the 9 inches." You'd be surprised how much room there was in that little tent for two. If that was" roughing it", I'll see him again!!!
This Novus team is always there at the Woods on weekends, sponsored by the campground and they do free HIV and STD testing, and mind you supply free PREP if you can prove your signed off to take it! I think it's great and nice to see many taken advantage of it's services.
This was about the time I had a nice pew , sat and contemplating and was thinking how I will hate going back to work after such a long vacation. But here it is Thursday and I all most made it!

GOOD FRIDAY....

...and Hot Cross Buns!

I'm not a religious person, but every Friday is a good Friday in my book! It's the end of another week and the weekend is coming, a nice long one too. But yes, today is indeed Good Friday and for me that means my first Hot Crossed Bun! I made two batches last night for the forthcoming family were getting. Hot cross buns are a spiced, often fruit filled sweet buns marked with a cross, traditional eaten on Good Friday to mark the end of Lent in Christian tradition, The cross symbolizes the crucifixion of Jesus, while the spices represent those used during his burial. They are a beloved Easter symbol of faith and renewal and to the forth coming spring. My grandmother and aunt made them every year, so I keep the tradition going, I guess. I think I read they originated from 12 century monks and it was believed that buns baked on Good Friday would never go moldy and possess healing and prospective powers. Who knows but go to a market or farm stand in PA and I bet you'll see tons of these buns. I use my aunt recipe, a pretty much run of the mill recipe found online, but we add in dried raisins, cherries and dates and almonds, along with nutmeg and a pinch of cinnamon. I had two today!

Of course, many also think of my other hot crossed buns, but they are served to my special friends! Just because it's Good Friday you didn't expect me to behave, did you? I'm always cheeky

MY SHAMROCK SHAKE

As I said yesterday on the Mood Board, I'm not full Irish, but only a quarter Irish so that must count for something right? Tonight...time for my corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight!! It will slow cook while Im at work, and I have two friends coming in for dinner tonight. But a long-time reader here will tell you, that the Mistress LOVES Shamrock Shakes!!!! Alas this year I 've only enjoyed one, but rest assure I'll have another one today at some point! I present my Shamrock Shake!

And if we are not warmed up yet , my dear gin blossom friend across the pond Jon, reminded me it's the perfect time and day for the lovely Gardiner Brothers and their painted on black jeans!

Happy St Patrick's Day...indeed!

THREE LITTLE INDIANS

I came across this today from a Thanksgiving from yester year...

from 1st Grade!!!!!

This was the Mistress, and if I recall, my little friends then Stephanie and Mindy. Even then the Mistress was apparently fond of headdresses. Should have seen drag in my future then.

BEACH DAZED

You have no idea how much I was looking forward to getting away on vacation. Especially what with the goings on of the current administration and the other half still licking wounds. Traveling and getting away may be the only way to balance oneself again. If I was home and never traveled, I think I'd go nuts. I know, a short trip for me, right? But I digress. The beach for me is always my favorite place to go to feel free, relax, and get rejuvenated. Nothing like hearing the sea, smelling it, and feeling the sand under foot. Getting Thrasher French Fries with salt and vinegar, and enjoying some famous Dollies Saltwater Taffy. So, Rehoboth Beach was a very good respite after the hoopla of the gay pride festivities in NYC. Rehoboth is also making a rebound I feel...the pendulum seems to be swinging back to being more gay again. While not as gay as say Ptown or Fire Island, it is pretty gay and very gay friendly. The restaurants are incredible, there are no less than five different weekly drag shows, with guest queens from all over, and not drag race queens, but legends, like Coco, Bunny, Sherry Vine, Miss Richfield and the one who inspired me to start drag, Champagne Douglas. There is also 5 gay bars and dance clubs. Imagine? I danced my ass off for three hours at Deigo's Hideaway our first Saturday night. And the shopping?!?! Such stylish boutiques and shops, with clothing with some flair.  If you ever get the chance, check this gem of a beach out. And I highly recommend staying at the Rehoboth Guest House, run by a gay couple I know from the Woods Campground, Frank and Garrett. The rooms are unique, attention to every detail, a full-on, full-service breakfast every morning, with everything under the sun you could ask for, wonderful, friendly and attentive staff, freshly made Chocolate chip cookies all day, and a fully stock 24-hour coffee and tea bar, beautiful courtyard and grounds. Don't want to head to the beach? They have chaise lounges up on the second level for sunning. Excellent location right within blocks of all the action, and the gay beach, Poodle Beach.

I already have my next two stays booked their already for autumn and next summer. And take a gander at what I'm taking about with my favorite place.

Apparently in Rehoboth one can only get and give head in the parking only!
ADORED the trompe-l'oeil on the front of this house.
I heard of Beach Bunnies but never actually saw one!!! I just had to get a snap and send it to Tundra Bunny. After I took the picture, that rabbit was rolling around in the sand having a high ho time. And speaking of ho's, a new square cut that matched a vintage tank perfectly.

The only problem staying at the guest house is all the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. And the blueberry pancakes that the house manager made for me remembering me saying I enjoyed them, not to mention made me special, some sausages when I got down to breakfast late and they were gone... and even brought them out to the courtyard for me. What a delight...and a wicked juice mixologist she was. It's a wonder that square cut wasn't cutting off my circulation kids.

And if your reading this and go and stay there tell them Maddie sent you.
