WILD AT 19...

 ...Before stepping into 20!

My no-good social director, Anita Moorecock informed me, yet again this year, I missed the A Day with the Mistress Borghese's blogoversary. I apparently hit 19 years last week! Hell, I have had this blog longer than any man at this point!! Hard to believe I'm still doing this and writing, and having people still reading and following, who knew? To think my good friend and siter Mame, AKA David Dust dragged me kicking and screaming to start a blog after commenting on blogs for 8 years before starting one. And it wouldn't be blogger without them blocking my last post, for what reason I can't phantom, and I noticed the follower counter also no longer updates, but yet I'm still here, mind you, getting more irritated by their nincompoopery. but yes, with some gin and good friends such as y'all I continue and do enjoy it. Some fun facts- we are at 15, 498,650 views, 6,010 post, 13,804 comments and one person short of 500 followers.  897 drag queens presented, and at least 320 visits to the Candy Shop. That's a lot of beauty and cock. Not to mention Mood Boards and In Three Words which continue to be popular and then there's all my nonsense, of travel, shade, men, kiki-ing, life at the Casa du Borghese, drinking and rants. It surprising to me that most of my readership is from Europe, Japan and not surprisingly, South America. Hello boys!!! The US on a list of 20 countries comes in at 14.

So, we will be popping open the bubbly, and letting it all hang out and celebrating today with the houseboys. Here's to 19 more years of gin and sin! Pop in and have a nip with us! Of course, the head-ers are a staple here too! Here are some from over the years. And always remember-

"LIVE! LIVE! Life is a banquet and some poor suckers are starving."

Now, what should we discuss next?

IN THREE WORDS

In this feature, I'll share a guest with you all each week,

and you tell me in only three words what comes to mind.

In Three Words...

MOCHA

One of my favorite styles for drag is a good retro look with a huge bump style in the wig and this queen has it. Mocha is a 26 year old London based queen originally from Essex and just landed herself on the 8th season, already? of Drag Race season 8. In my opinion she doesn't need the show already gaining a huge following. Adore Mocha's look and she reminds me of the style of drag of my early club days, that drew me into drag in the first place. Mocha has a great cartoonish, yet vintage and showgirl inspired style with just the right amount of kooky twist. Her style is a blend of Soho perfection meets East London grit. And not only is she a marvel with the makeup brush...and even though she DESPISES sewing, she makes all her own ensembles not to mention the looks of many other drag queens. I think I need a trip to Madam JoJo's in Soho.

And for some reason not only does Mocha conjure early memories of my club scene, so does this new Madonna ditty. Take me right back to that sound. Mocha could turn this number.

USUAL SUSPECTS

...or creepy crawlies?? In the last week, I have seen many creepy crawlies, winged insects and a few fur balls. But not all creepy. I'm not a fan of caterpillars, but knowing what most of them turn into I can overlook the temporary stage they are in. like the silkworm down below. That thing was huge, about 5" long and just as thick! Yuck. Let's take a gander....look at the head of that thing!

but wait there's more! I got a video of it for y'all.

But they turn into one of North America's largest butterflies or more so moths. I don't see many around here...it's been a few years since I saw one. Here is another in the grass about a week ago.

Of course I came across another big sucker, but a dead one. I almost caught Sophie eating it. Because why wouldn't she? Yes a cicada.
Of course they aren't all ugly.

Here's a beauty in another video I caught after work of a butterfly on the Mexican sunflower.

And of course there were the usual suspects around...the fur kind. Luckily, I don't many problems with them eating my garden up or wreaking havoc with any holes or such.
This rabbit sat for close to two hours in this spot and actually took a snooze there till darkness hit.
And then there was this moment. I was walking past the Hosta on the one side of the house to weed and heard a rustling in the leaves, thinking it was a cicada. This is what emerged! I have seen them at night but never before dark, if rarely.
Very vampire like watching move as it came out of the leaves. I later went back and didn't see it anywhere. It must have flew off. But in the garden at night, I see usually about three of them flying about eating annoying insects. I don't mind all these creatures. Yes, some of them are not all that appealing to look at, but they all serve a purpose in the scheme of things.
