LOOKING GLASS...SAKS

It goes without question that no one can do Christmas quite like New York City, although, Philadelphia is pretty neck and neck with it. The picturesque windows for Manhattan's flagship department stores will have you stopping in your footsteps—even the most hardened of New Yorkers must pause to gawk, then grumble on about tourists. Window shopping is an amazing experience just after Thanksgiving when Manhattan's biggest department stores reveal their holiday window displays, some having taken months, and in some cases all year to create. In some companies, they have just a visual team for windows alone. Checking out some holiday windows is a must-do during your holiday season visit to New York City. The windows displays are almost always on view shortly before Thanksgiving and remain up until just after the New Year, so they can be experienced by visitors throughout the holiday season.  As is tradition here, I will start sprinkling in the holiday window since they seem to be a holiday favorite with y'all. The first and only one thus far I saw is Saks, and last week's Tiffany & Co on my last trip last week. Ill be in New York City this weekend...so look out next week.
Fans of Mickey Mouse will love Saks Fifth Avenue’s holiday window display. In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the department store partnered with the media brand to transform all fourteen of its Fifth Avenue-facing windows into scenes from the beloved fairytale.  If you go, you'll see incredibly detailed vignettes of Snow White frolicking among adorable woodland creatures, the seven dwarfs singing their famous song in a crystal cave and the Wicked Queen being, y'know, evil! I thought they were very well done.

MEANWHILE AT SAKS......

...you walk in to see Lady Bunny queening! This is what happens when a fabulous queen should go home after a night of drinking.

MORE CHRISTMAS WINDOW SHOPPING

Continuing on with our window tour, is one of my favorite stores, Henri Bendel. I'm a HUGE Bendel Boy.....I adore the store and the feel of the atmosphere there. While Bendel's may not have the huge windows the other stores have, they are usually very filled with Christmas giving ideas.

Meanwhile over at Saks Fifth Avenue, they did there take of Land of 1000 Delights!!!! All candy themed!!! With incredible fashion.

And who doesn't like some baubles bought at Tiffany's??? My favorite there was the chandelier scene! Anf there ode to New York streets.

WINTER'S PALACE

Continuing our tour of the holiday windows this year, another stop has got to be Saks Fifth Avenue, who most years doesn't disappoint. Saks is always a good stop during the holidays if you don't get to New York but once a year...for the spirit of the holidays is really located here with many things to see....St.Patrick's Cathedral,  Rockefeller Center, and it's stunning tree, and Saks Christmas windows and light show they do off the façade of the building. This year, while Bergdorf Goodman is always my favorite and elegant, I thought Saks was REALLY PRETTY STUNNING, maybe their best ever. Park Avenue princesses will rejoice at the sight of The Winter Palace, which was their theme, replete with an ice cold chandeliers and clothing that even an ice queen would approve of!

The light show and inside were just as elegant.
