LADY GALORE

 When I often get asked what my top ten favorite drag queens list would be, it's always a hard choice to name just ten...but I can tell you this,  Lady Galore, from Amsterdam would make that list. 

On my trip there back in 2014, it was propriety to make the itinerary we had to see a show of hers. And she didn't disappoint. Lady Galore is right up the Mistress's style of drag I can get behind, and she puts on a hell of a show. Lady Galore  was created for Gay Pride 2009 in Amsterdam. After that she was unstoppable. She started out making her own outfits, practicing make-up and making appearances to various party’s throughout the first year. Throwing her own party’s, photo-shoots and uploading YouTube video’s were the next step. After only 2 years of doing drag she began strutting her stuff on a international level. Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Madrid, Antwerp, Cologne, Belfast, Glasgow, Stockholm…. the sky was the limit. She started up several events like the “Right to Feel Safe” protest in 2010 and the annual Drag Queens United event, which is right up there with drag events like Bunny's Wigstock. Taboo’s fabulous cocktail Wednesday’s, Gay high tea’s, and conceptualized Fancy Friday which  was  happening every Friday at Queers Café. The last couple years her hair has been created and perfected by John Gravemaker, the hair guru of the “girls”. And her outfits are usually made by Hahn & Roberts.  In 2012 she organized a gay pride boot for Drag Queens United. And again in August 2013.  Since 2017 Drag Queens United has had their boat in the national gay parade on the canal. For 4 years every Sunday she organized, hosted, presented and performed at her own event called “Lady Galore’s Drag Night” But after 208 shows it was time to step up her game, and she’s went on to bigger things like hosting her own stage: ‘This is How we Drag Galore, at Europe’s biggest gay festival called Milkshake Festival. In 2016 she produced 2 major lipdub video’s with in the last one: 100 drag queens. And they went viral. Since than Lady Galore’s been travelling the world. performing in every major city in Europe and making new plans for the future, bringing with her glamour, charity and her activism. But THAT HAIR AND MUG!!!

She is ever sharp and right on point with her signature style. She started out making her own outfits, practicing make-up and making appearances to various party’s throughout the first year. Throwing her own party’s, photo-shoots and uploading YouTube video’s were the next step. After only 2 years she has been strutting her stuff on a international level. Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Madrid, Antwerp, Cologne, Belfast, Glasgow, Stockholm…. the sky is the limit. Since than Lady Galore’s been travelling the world. performing in every major city in europe and making new plans for the future including her first ever stop in the US, where she will undoubtedly spread her message of "Let’s make more GLAMOUR!" One of these days, if I ever do my Top 10 Best Drag Queens, Lady Galore would be on it! This Diva isn't your regular queen honey, she's Big, Fierce and Galore!!! She only pops up at parties once in a while but when she does, she does it Galore Style! I absolutely love her style!!!!! And her wigs....FIERCE!  Lady Galore was created for Gay Pride 2009 in Amsterdam. After that she was unstoppable. She started out making her own outfits, practicing make-up and making appearances to various party’s throughout the first year. At the end of that year she teamed op with photographer Remon van den Kommer, who to this day still works with her on fabulous spreads. Throwing her own party’s, photo-shoots and uploading YouTube video’s were the next step. Since 2 years she is strutting her stuff on a international level. Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Madrid, Antwerp the sky is the limit. She started up several events like the “Right to feel safe” protest in 2010 and Drag Queens United in 2011. She is also the founder of the House of Galore, a group of drag Queens who are talented, friendly, professional and have amazing looks, skills and creativity. Since January 2012 every Sunday she has organised, hosted, presented and performed at her own event called “Lady Galore’s drag night”. Which is currently every Sunday in the Amstel 54. Also Lady Galore’s Gay High tea in the chocolate company Amsterdam and Lady Galore’s fabulous cocktail Wednesdays in Taboo Bar in Amsterdam are a lot of fun!

She has lots of dreams, aspirations and hopes that she gets to travel more, meet great people and hold her friends close
