BASSEY & BLAKE

Ahhhhhhhh, after the last post...this is much better and put me in a good mood. Besides ABBA , I think Dame Shirley also always put me in a good mood too. It occurred to me,  I didn't recall ever hearing a Christmas song sung by Dame Shirley Bassey so off I went.....and to my delighted gay heart......

Dame Shirley sings, The Christmas Song with Blake, a British singing trio...Ollie Baines, Stephen Bowman and Humphrey Berney...who hail from the UK and are renowned for performing classical and pop songs in stunning harmony vocal arrangements. The three men who enthrall fans, and yours truly now after tonight,  with their amazing singing, charismatic presence and not to mention good looks. I must say, the Dame must have loved them too...I never saw her so animated singing before.

Much better mood tonight. Thanks to all. I'm now getting out my birds and sorting my balls for the tree.

I guess red balls is better then having blue balls?

DAME SHIRLEY

I've been in love with Dame Shirley Bassey ever since I heard her recording of Goldfinger for the James Bond movie...Moonraker close behind. Let's not forget the chic History Repeating, with the Propellerheads.  I have about 8 of her cd's and was happy to have seen her perform once, of all places, right here in New Hope when I first moved here. By far, one of my favorite singers is putting mildly. And to date, I don't think anyone did a better job with Bond themes, like Shirley. Just timeless.  Recently Dame Shirley shared a photo of herself wearing a gold sequin dress and matching face mask, her in a sequin gown is shocking right? At 83 she still looks fabulous and still sounds incredible. She had the picture taken in Italy earlier this autumn to mark her 70 years in show business, and this was a nod to Goldfinger. It was with much glee and delight a friend texted me two weeks ago, that the Dame is coming out with her "grand finale" album dedicated to her fans. Of course...you know damn well, this gay boy has already ordered my copy.
What better way to end the week, but with a listen to one of my favorite top 5 songs of all time.......

NEW YEAR"S...LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED

You do know the Mistress got an early start right....shocked, aren't we???

Let's slip into something more fabulous shall we!!!!!

Tonight, I'll be hosting my intimate annual New Years Eve dinner of fillet mignon, lobster tail and ginger side cars, proceeded by a huge platter of Italian meats, shrimp, olives, cheeses, figs, fresh bruschetta with crostini. Then bottomless champagne will flow..... I always make the guest dress, after all, no one seems to dress up for anything anymore, tisk, tisk. To curses with sweat attire, sneakers and causal crap. It's all about dress shirts and bow ties tonight, where the boys will be boys.... with the backside slaps, wanton behaviors, eye flirting, etc etc......

And to undo a bow tie is even sexier!!!!!

Resolutions!?! Me? Never make them. I feel if I need to work on something, or make changes... no time like the present, why wait till the new year? So I have none, except to maybe cut back on meeting guys, with 3 currently, I still can't settle and get rid of this randy feeling.... and maybe this will be the year the Lad will make a honest man of me!!!!! No more Samantha Jones. Oh...lets not get crazy!!!!! And I'm never one to make those resolutions about fitness or dieting , drinking or eating. You know my favorite motto,

" LIVE! LIVE! LIFE'S A BANQUET, AND SOME SORRY SONS OF BITCHES ARE STRAVING TO DEATH!"

I hope that 2014 has treated you as well as you deserve, I feel blessed and happy to look back on many joys and treats I had this year in my own life. Sure... I screwed up more than a few times, but I think the good and bad combined just continue to make and mold us to become stronger, and wiser people. Will continue to count each blessings...big or small- a blessing is a blessing after all! Cheers to that!

In closing year 2014… I'd like to thank you all for all your kind support, by commenting, writing, and sharing . We have really built together a place to enjoy some visual delights, support, encouragement, and a place of shelter from the more common mundane things we have to face daily which are not always so positive, upbeat or fun. What a joy...having special blogs that I can visit when I desperately need a dose of inspiration, laughs, some naughties, and some good news bits. And so likewise hoping the Mistress Borghese is not only a place to visit, but one that energizes and inspires you with visual delights and my nonsense. So chins up, stomach in, breasts/chest out!!! 2015 is coming, old father time is tired, and baby new year is waiting in the wings.....

now...I must get ready for my close up and make sure the houseboys are ready for the night.....

Now how about some real visual delight... sure to put you in the New Year's mood for a swank, chic, elegant old time........

HAPPY NEW YEAR to each of you !!!
XOXO

Dame Bassey was Spine Tingling......

Dame Shirley Bassey is one of my favorite chanteuses ,and did she ever give my spine some chills up and down as she sang Goldfinger. And at 77 the Dame still has it. I think my jaw was gapping through the whole song, as I was grabbing for my smelling salts.. AMAZING!

Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson had great range, but did she murder that song with screeching? It was like nails going down a chalk board or was it just me? She could have sang that much better.

Returning soon........

A Garden Lunch with Riparian Entertainment

Anyone who knows the Mistress knows she like to have parties and dinner parties. I find entertaining stories very appetizing. It got me to thinking if I could have a dinner party with eight people besides people I already know, who would I chew the fat with? And what would I serve? Then I changed it to a fabulous garden lunch instead, followed by some old fashioned Riparian activities. I would opt for some cute cucumber sandwiches, fresh fruit, and a wonderful salad and ,of course some afternoon cock-a-tails! My man servant would be in place to help serve of course! The eight personalities that I love and would mesmerise me would be, Lady Bunny, Miss Lady Keir, Anderson Cooper, Dame Shirley Bassey, Nicole Kidman, Lisa Lampanelli, John Galliano and John Barlett. Let me introduce you to my guests.

Lady Bunny

Sashay girl! I have always loved this queen. She has a smashing style, mile high hair, a contagious laugh and is highly entertaining, plus she has a super-raunchy blog. So you know her small talk will heat up the table. Bunny can make the drinks; I'll be having what she having!

Miss Lady Keir

The stylist epitome of everything I love. Lady Keir is a heady combo of 60's baby doll and 90's club kid- and she is sitting next to me! The mere thought of her in a cat suit or minidress, bell sleeves, Alice bands, and Flvevog heels makes my heart race. And she is sooooooo bringing the brownies. De-Gorgeous!

Anderson Cooper

Anderson Cooper is one hot daddy! That silver hair and blue eyes. And he would be on the other side of me!!! Anderson would bring to the table the Vanderbilt tradition of manners, well dress, and intellect. The news anchor and journalist could also bring pictures and stories of his world experiences from all over the world, and keep the guest on top of current affairs. I would later try to bed him.

Nicole Kidman and Dame Shirley Bassey

Let's not mince words here. These two would be the classy broads. Classy enough to teach the other guest which cutlery to use. I love both these divas for their stunning looks and chic fashion sense. Plus with the worlds of film and music covered they could tell stories from Tinseltown, and maybe Dame Shirley could sing a ditty and Nicloe could do some dramatic act for us! But no Tom stories, Nicole!

Lisa Lampanelli

The Grammy winning, equal opportunity offender looks harmless, but don't fool with this ho. This June Cleaver looking lady will cut a ho! As a comedian, Lisa would bring laughter and insult comic to the elegant lunch with her racy and raunchy style of comedy. She would then proceed to roast us all, till we all fall over from laughing to hard. And I wouldn't need to worry about her hitting on the other male guest because she like the black men.

John Galliano and John Barlett

These two handsome designers would have to be present. Galliano because the Mistress loves his gowns and Barlett because the male mistress loves his fashion. They could also let us in on the up-coming fashion trends and give us the dirt from the fashion world. Maybe they could even give a fashion critique on the guest and tell us where all the hot male models are hanging out. I would later try to bed John Barlett.

Well there you have it. I'm sure that would be a hell of a interesting lunch. There are other people who interest me also and I would love to meet, probably more serious types, but life's a banquet damn it, and I want to have a fabulous time. Who would you have for a luncheon or dinner party?

Tugboat's Thoughtfulness

Yesterday after another long day at work the Mistress had a couple errands to run so she thought she would get them done now instead of doing them over the weekend. I got everything I needed to get done in record time. When a got home their was a package on the door step. I open it to reveal a beautifully wrapped tower of all kinds on goodies, from cheese, truffles, mints, spirit, shortbread cookies, and other delish looking little nibbles!

It turns out the Tugboat was at it again with a "stimulus package". Sam, you are one of the most thoughtful people tootes! Thank you so much for your kindness! Every time I par take of something from this basket I'll have you in mind. What a really sweet thing to do! Sam, AKA Tugboat, if you haven't met him yet in the blogoshere has a blog, God, You Ain't Gonna Believe This! On more than one occasion he has had this bitch in stitches! Be sure to check him out sometime. I few weeks back I did a post on the fabulous Dame Shirley Bassey. Sam had commented he really liked her and his favorite song by her was This is My Life. So as a thank-you Sam here is a video of her performing it. Now as Sam would say- " Let's ride ho's!

The Spectacular Shirley Bassey

I just saw a bio on Dame Shirley Bassey on tv last night. I was just glued to the set. You see Dame Shirley Bassey is one of the Mistress's favorite chanteuse. I would love to see her probably more than anyone else in concert. Even at 72 she still looks incredible! Shirley Bassey was born on January 8,1937 to working class parents in a dockside district of Tiger Bay and is the youngest of seven children. Shirley went on to become a International star.

She performed the theme songs to the James Bond films including, Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, and Moonraker. She is the only singer to have recorded more than one James Bond theme song. Dame Shirley has also accumulated 20 silver discs for sales in Britain, Europe, and the Middle East; fifty plus gold discs of international sales and has more greatest hits compilation albums than any other artist, including one gold and two platinum. Dame Shirley has also performed with some of the best talent around including the London Symphony Orchestra, John Barry, Count Basie,Humphrey Littleton, the Propellerheads including many other artist. And she is still going strong and still touring. I watch her web site on occasion to see if she will get to New Hope, as the town gets many big name cabaret and jazz talent here. Dame Shirley currently resides in Monaco. A beautiful setting for such an elegant woman. I also included my favorite Bassey song,History Repeating. Her voice is just jaw dropping! Now if she could just loan me that red number with the feathers.

And her remake of Pink's Get This Party Started
