I first became friendly with Pearly Gates on this here blog. She commented for a couple years. One year the clan decided to go to Ptown one summer, my first time ever, and she has said we SO need to meet, and that we did. She had her hands full with us boys. So now ever year when we go, there is always Pearly time. This summer however, Ptown has been hit hard because of the virus, and the poor dear had her year residency cancelled, the first time in 17 years. She called me when I told her we had cancelled our trip in the thick of this, and she said why not come up and stay with her, since the town is quiet. I did. We carried on, danced, drank, gossiped, drank, cooked and drank some more…. and had plenty of kiki's. Here is Pearly as one of her personalities... Aunt Cassie Rolle, in a drunken study.
Gurl...thanks again!!!! And by the way. Did you ever get my underwear and butterfly net down off that ceiling fan?
Well, looks like the Mistress has finally had enough fun in the sun, and is now back to the Casa du Borghese. Are you happy to see me??? What a whirlwind end of summer. If one knows me, I very seldom turn down any beach time. The beach is by far, my favorite locale. As much of a pain in the ass and time as getting to Provincetown and Fire Island, I just adore these two places. It is pretty much 90% gay populated, so it is very nice to be with like minded people, and the LGBTQ community can just be, and act and dress how we want with no worries and just be us. Which is very cool and refreshing. Provincetown is a cool spigot of land and reminds me if one would take Rehoboth Beach and New Hope and marry the two, you'd get P-town. A lovely beach town, but has a vintage and campy feel to it, and who can pass up on the award winning fudge shops!!! And my hostess with the mostess, Pearl Gates had a lovely schedule planned out... even at the dick dock. Some of my favorite memories from the trip.
The whale watch is by far one of my favorite things to do when in town. It's nice to see another variety of Moby Dick. They were very active this year too.
I made quite a few deposits here.
I remember Cali Boi and Sixpense wanted some basket pictures, and there was plenty of those at tea dances.
The guy in the middle here, Jacob is actually a Instagram follower who I met, and is a doctor. I had quite a few things for him to check out for me. The guy on the right is an interior designer, David Bromstead who to my knowledge, used to have a show on Bravo. I don't remember him having so many tats, I used to adore him. On a side note, All three could have choked a horse with what was in those hotdog smugglers.
The Lad and one of the clan, Marcus, from the house, acting out their Coppertone Baby fantasies. sigh..... I told you all he is a handful.
Two take out bears for Anne Marie! I hope the dear is not dieting yet?
And of course I saw some of my girls!!!
The hilarity of Miss Rchfield 1981!
Here's is Preston on the left with one of my favorites, Ben de la Creme
Cleo Phatra
If drag is your thing, P-town is the spot for you then. A boat load of queens have summer residencies there and this year we caught the talented and funny Thirsty Burlington, and she DID NOT disappoint.
I have long adored the antics of Dina Martina. Who else can pull off those lips, and a flip with a lovely afternoon kaftan? What an eye popping day look.
And the always lovely Jinkx Moonsoon! That bitch can sing!
Also in town, a treat I hadn't seen in some time was Dixie Longate, with a very convincing Wonder Woman.
Of course, just taking in the beauty of the town is always relaxing.
Merdrags do exist!!!!!!
Our B and B had a lovely room for us, even though it was a bit tight with three of us in the bed, and a very relaxing pool, and delicious breakfast. What a treat to hear the sea at night.
This was me lounging poolside, a day before we left for the next leg of the trip.
A huge thanks to my hostess Pearly Gates for taking the lead and showing us a good time, and to the Boatslip for all those yummy drinks!!!! If I didn't know better, I think those bartenders were trying to take advantage of moi. And if anyone in P-town sees Ms Moorecock, tell her I'll send a envelope with money to get her home. Seems I misplaced her in a shop up there somewhere, probably distracted by free samples of cheese or fudge. But where ever she is I'm sure she is sitting somewhere. So there's that.
It has been a very fun summer so far, what can I tell you!Right after my jaunt glamping in the Pocono's, it was off the next day to my favorite summer time haunt.... a lovely little spigot of land.....Provincetown, with the my clan!
Pride, tolerance and good times perfectly describe Cape Cod’s Provincetown – America’s ultimate GLBT vacation spot. It is no coincidence that for more than 50 years, the gay and lesbian community returns every summer to Provincetown. The recent development/tourism development of Provincetown owes much to this community here where one can find a place to feel at home. Nice people, tee shirt shops and lots of award winning fudge, lovely beaches and many , many cock-a-tails to be had, P-Town has it all! Hell even the Pilgrims came here first. Some reasons I loved this trip.....
Our host's rental this year. A quaint little house with 7 gay guys staying here. We needed as shoe horn to make us fit, and slept three deep! And they had the most tasty breakfast wines.
It’s A Giant Outdoor Gym.
The bike trails are intense and beautiful, and a hike across the breakwater will work out your quads better than any personal trainer. The ocean water is brisk and relatively safe for long swims—and it gives the studly year-rounders a wizened Paul Newman kind of sexiness. Or take a hike to see the various lighthouses. The beach we went to was Herring Cove, which was also a nice hike. Not to mention all the free cardio guys get on the side, if you know what I'm stepping in. Tons of walking through town seeing sights.
A Parade!!
It was a sweet day for a parade in Provincetown on Thursday as the annual Carnival attracted around 90,000 party-goers to the Outer Cape. This year’s theme was Candyland, which resulted in eclectic and sometimes provocative outfits and parade floats.Costumes ranged from lollipops to cotton candy, and other candy-related themes and characters. The annual event, sponsored by the Provincetown Business Guild, is considered one of the largest outdoor celebrations in New England.
the fabulous Hat Sisters!
I was this close to putting him in my Candy Shop!!!!!
Miss Richfield 1981
You can hook up without a hookup app.
Call me old fashioned dears, but I'm hands on, and in your face. I like to see in person what I'm getting, and will melt in my mouth. Remember when guys got together by meeting in three dimensional space? Go back to ancient times, when gays cruised each other at bars, street corners, even at getting a coffee at 8am. Or after last call, when everyone congregates at Spiritus Pizza. And after that? Word has it thatthere’s a lovely little gathering place for gentlemen affectionately called the Dick Dock.
And speaking of like a orgasm in the mouth!
Just for Norma Desmond! Yes dear, we hit Spiritus everyday!!!!!! A must try!
The food here is great, from the top end tinkly wine glass type of restaurant to the fish and burger joints on MacMillan Wharf. There is also a supermarket so you can do it on the cheap. My other favorite place is the Lobster Pot.
Loved this little kitschy shop. I really like how the seashells were displayed. From high end boutiques, home stores, novelties and the AWARDING WINNING FUDGE....it's all here.
It’s the gay Borscht Belt.
The town’s galleries open their doors Friday evening, many with bottles of inexpensive Pinot Grigio, and some free wine at some spots. I suggest starting up at AMP Gallery on the West End and working your way east. Hit up Four Eleven Studio, William Scott Gallery and Provincetown Art Association and Museum and ending up at The Schoolhouse Gallery. Then go back and hit the ones you missed. And then there's the shows!! Drag is king in P-Town: Dina Martina, Miss Ridgefield 1981, Varla Jean Merman, Coco Peru, Courtney Act and Bianca Del Rio are just a few of the must-see experiences. We caught Courtney's act, and the ever handsome Well Strung String Quartet.
We saw the fabulous Miss Richfield 1981 and Dina Martina on the street with the fresh tips.
We met up for dinner and dancing with frequent blog commenter, and Casa du Borghese hussy. Pearly Gates...when she wasn't busy mugging in the Port-o-Potty!
It was another fun and fabulous time in Provincetown. The only thing we missed this year was our usual whale watch and seafood bake, in lieu of doing some art and seeing some shows. But a huge thank you to all for your wonderful hospitality, our hosts for putting us up, and to Glen at Crown and Anchor for hooking me up with refreshing complimentary gin and tonics!!!!! And to Pearly for your time and seeing your show. It's always a pleasure.
