K-TEL: now THERE'S a blast from the past! This is one of my favourite movies and I'm sure Bette would've delighted in kicking Joan's ass for real, LOL!
We actually have a genuine Bette Davis CD [NOT Charles Pierce!] from 1976, where she rasps her way through numbers like They're Either Too Young Or Too Old, I Wish You Love, Mother of the Bride, and... YES! I've Written a Letter To Daddy!

PS You don't have a time-stamp on your posts, but whenever you published it, it's not showing in my Blog Reader; nor have either of the two I posted today [on different blogs]...
I have one recording of a Bette Davis song that belonged to my grandmother, Turn Me Loose on Broadway. An entertaining singer to say the least.
Meanwhile you the only blogger who had a post show up today in my reader today and yours only just popped up two hours ago. Others still haven't showed up......
From the picture that is one VERY old baby.
ReplyDeleteHelen, please don't tell me that you've never seen this movie?

ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Joan Crawford, I'm pretty sure Bette would beat her ass.
DeleteDamn straight, Maddie! Bette Davis was one of the few female role models I had when I was a young woman.
DeleteI need this for my collection.
ReplyDeleteI'll be singing "You Didn't Eat Yer Din Din" for the rest of the day!
Something to drive Carlos nuts with????

Bette Davis was something else. She was amazing no matter what she did, while Joan Crawford gave me the creeps.

Janie

DeleteYou can have your Joan and I'll raise you a Gene Tierney.
