TOOT TOOT! hey, BEEP BEEP!

There's certain Queens that just have a raw, natural talent. And can truly coin the corner on a niche market. This season, Suzie Toot was one of those queens that was on RuPaul's Drag Race. From my original recap I always had her pegged for the 4th or 5th Place, as her style and talent is very niche...but there was no doubt she had talent. Her vintage Golden age style was off the hook, yet she did give us that rare glimpse when she would break brand and do something different and even then ...she nailed it. Portraying Ru's babysitter was fucking hilarious and that sky-high hair was stunning. I recently had the privilege of seeing her perform here and I'm here to tell you she brought the house down. I was actually very surprised at how big the crowd was and just how many loved that vintage flare. Audiences are thirsty for something different other then just a lip synching queen. I was also godsmack by her natural singing voice. Oh yes in this show I saw, she was not lip syncing. I dare say I see her going on to being another Ginger Minj or Jinx Monsoon with natural Broadway style and vocal talent. Out of all the queens this season , I found her to be the most creative and artistic and cerebral with concepts and I'm here for that . And while all the Queens on RuPaul's Drag Race our friends and got along for the most part, I do think they were a little hard on Suzie Toots wins, style and talent. But Suzie is tough as nails, and she is definitely sure of herself and could definitely be overbearing and overconfident, but I'm here to tell you if you don't have those qualities and can't roll with the punches you're going to find a very short lived life on the drag scene. And from the recent show I saw here, she had a huge following already. Her fans and followers are referring themselves as Tooters!!!! Even though RuPaul did not let her go on to the Final Four, it wasn't surprising... As RuPaul very seldom ever crowns a niche performer. The only one that comes to mind really is Sharon Needles. But with Suzie's style, her incredible performance talent, and her great attitude I think her little "niche" is going to take her very far. The picture I shared from the show is the one where she has the black and silver gown on with Sky High red hair. She wore that on the show and I told her I think I need it.

Most people will be surprised by her voice when they hear it.

  1. I LOVE Suzie...and have not met her yet. But you're right, I too think her creativity and ideas were far above the others. And who knew she was that funny in the Ru- live episode? I thought that was the best part of it that night. And that video is amazing.

  2. I too loved her. She killed runways and bring things to the stage a younger generation hasn't seen. This theatre queen has nothing to worry about. I've seen some of her more artistic projects....to be in her head.

  3. She was fab.
Overbearing and overconfident? A Drag Queen? You joke, I'm sure.
No, seriously. I agree with you: the concepts, the excecution and the stories she was telling were great. I do think they wanted her to show more range (she did follow Lana's advice in make up though) but she'll be fine.
    And she sings?
    Oh, she'll go far.
My fave? Her Iron Maiden runway. She left them speechless.

    XOXO

    1. I am sort of glad she stuck to her guns and kept her brand of Suzie.

    2. She very seldom, if anytime, didn't bring one of the runway challenges! Every week she brought it! I too and sort of glad she never gave up on her niche, after all it's her brand and what got her there.

  6. You know I'd love her...because I love that form of entertainment. The more I saw her...the more I loved her. I was heartbroken when she got eliminated...but like you said she is going to go far. Maybe a EGOT member??????

  7. She was my pick to win it. I really thought it would come down to her & Onya.
She's also adorable out of drag.
I'll await her win on All-Stars.

    1. I agree Norma. For some reason I could listen to her talk all day. He was very articulated when he talked.

  8. Lip-synching beauty pageant queens are fine for charity or amateurs night, but if I was to pay money to see a drag show, I'd want to see performers like Suzie Toot who can really sing! I love Suzie's blue water outfit in the first two photos and despite her hair colours, I got a definite Liza Minnelli/Cabaret vibe! I also thought her fans would call themselves Tootsies, LOL!

    1. I completely agree 100% Tundra, And anymore I think General audiences are starting to feel the same way. If you watch the show, I feel like either on you or Lexi Love is going to win the whole season. And while I love Lexie and she brought all the final Runway challenges, and never once found herself in the bottom two lip syncing, if you go to a Lexi loves show I'm still confused as to what I would be seeing if I went to pay a ticket for her show? At least with Onya and for that matter Suzie you know what you're getting and it could be a different show all the time....and with even Jewels and Sam Star...you at least know your going to get a good lip synch and looks. And I adore and love Lexie, but what would you get a Lexi show?

    1. Especially in his first six pictures. Maybe if she had done her in the snatch game she might have more luck?

  11. It's impossible not to like Suzie Toot. I knew she wasn't going to win in the end for the same reasons you said, but I still wanted to see her make the finals.

    1. At this point, if they're going to Crown a queen who's well-rounded and can do it all it really should be Onya.

…wie das alte Berliner Kabarett à la New York, sehr talentiert :)
So wie es Amerika läuft, wird man wieder beklagen, dass man während der Grossen Depression „Brother, can you spare a dime“ sagen wird. :\

    1. Danke fürs Vorbeischauen! Schön, dass dir das Video gefallen hat. Suzie ist unglaublich. Leider stimme ich dir in deinem Kommentar zu. Es ist traurig zu sehen, was unser Präsident diesem Land antut.

  16. I'm so happy 80'S rock chic Susie showed up- and killed it. Queens are quick to discount her and her style, but she is a lip-synch assassinator. Had she done that in her elimination, Sam Star would not be in the top four right now I can tell you that. She ate that reunion.
