MOOD BOARD

I have the feeling this would be a good Monday to stay in bed, with a man or no man, as we continue to yet again get another rainy day. Yesterday was just plain soggy, dark, damp and rain of some sort all day. Now, I enjoy a nice rainy day, but I think 12 straight days is enough. If I wanted this treatment of rain, I'd move to Seatle or the UK for petes sake. The poor garden is starting to yellow and I'm losing many things now from too much water. I see a clean-up and clear out coming. As for me, the weekend was spent with cooking and being a couch potato watching many Maggie Smith movies as the channel I came across had a movie marathon on. They included my two favorites, Tea with Mussolini and Evil Under the Sun. Which has one of my favorite movie quotes from Smith, who directed her comment to Diana Rigg's character in the film.

Daphne Castle-"Arlena and I were in the chorus of a show together, not that I could ever compete. Even in those days, she could always throw her legs up in the air higher than any of us...and wider."

Hmmmmm, reminds me of someone....but who?

  2. That's a lot of rain.... I hope once the remnants of Helene make it past you, things will dry out a bit. Here, we've been breaking heat records on a daily basis. We're easily 10 degrees above normal. Triple-digit temps are expected to linger on like this through the week. On the plus side, the pool is warm again. Don't think I've ever been pool lounging in October!

  3. I have to inform you that we have not had 12 consecutive days of rain here; there may have been flooding at the pub and the next village over, but we're alright Jack. And don't blame me for your rain; my name does not end in an E

  4. Sorry about the rain. Rainy days should always be spent in bed...and if there's a partner there, all the better!

    1. I wondered how you faired with Helene Jen? Where my uncle is moving is in shambles in Ashville. He may have to postpone his move by two weeks done now we understand.

    2. I had to stop, Mads. Too many people thought I was a walrus, and I hate getting my picture taken by random strangers! I'm getting my tusks removed soon, so I shouldn't have that problem! Yep, I'm in another silly ass mood.

  8. Our weather is nice, and a bit warm, since Helene ran through here.

Has your uncle moved to Asheville yet? It's sad what's happened up there.

    1. No Bob....he was supposed to move this coming Wednesday, but the movers coming up from there have no idea when they will be able to get up here. And his son, my cousin... and his wife, has yet to get any info if their own home down there and the new one they are building is even still standing, let alone be able to reach her mother. The few they have got hold of said it's a complete lost of the town. They also can't get any info of the retirement village my uncle got a bungalow in.

  9. That's a LOT of man right there.
I could lend a hand, though...
And it's been kinda dry over here. Some rain, but nothing too drastic. I heard some parts of the country were smashed with torrential rains...

    XOXO

    1. If you think that is a lot of man, you should have seen yesterday's post. But I agree the man of the bed...that is a very nice piece!!! All this rain is draining me...and not the fun way either.

    Tundra Bunny here...

Days of rain on end can be downright depressing for sure, but it beats hell out of the stiff weather change we got here on the Canadian prairies: yesterday was 31 Celsius while it's only 8 Celsius today with wind gusting to 72 Kilometres per hour! Steaming hot coffee, a bubbling creme brulee and a cute puppy would sure be nice to snuggle up with today, LOL!

  18. Too bad about the rain. We are again in desperate need here in MÃĄlaga. Restrictions have returned. Tell your friend in the next to last photo to roll over and make room for me.

  19. Love your mood boards. We had a day like this on Tuesday. And now Thursday (yes, I'm late to the party, I know). It makes me think I might like winter because I will get to stay home and I like staying home.
