FEELING GOOD

You've got to climb Mount Everest to reach the Valley of the Dolls. It's a brutal climb to reach that peak. You stand there. Waiting for the rush of exhilaration; but it doesn't come.

Four hours of surgery.6 Meds. Recovering nicely. Mostly some swelling and numbness now, some pain but recovering nicely. Two more days home to recover and Meds.

YIPPPEEEEE!

  2. I'm happy for you, kiddo. I have become proficient in gumming my food. I think I'll keep it that way. Big squishy nonpainful hugs Mads.

    1. Deedles...I still can't believe I did this. The swelling and numbness are bad, but surprisingly I had hardly any pain. Now the diet might kill me. For three weeks nothing but EnSures, shakes, broths, pudding, applesauce and the like. After three weeks the same, but can than work in the like of ground meats, pasta, eggs, mac and cheese, pancakes and such. My regular diet can't happen till around January 18th. I have already lost 3 pounds! This may be the first Christmas season I don't gain weight.

  6. Did they do the implants right away, or do you have to go back?

    1. I currently have a temporary set of arches, implanted that will stay in till January18, then go back to get the permanent set in which will be slightly heavier in weight, because of the material they are made in, and a tad smaller. The temps are nice because it gives time for the bone and implant stints time to bond and you don't have to go without teeth. The meds and the diet are taking some getting used to and the hardest part for me, since I have rarely taken meds much for anything, except maybe aspirin... and so used to eating what I enjoy in moderation.

  10. Mistress you are a card!!!!!! I so happy to read your mending so well That is a lot of meds! Are they affecting you at all? And I haven't Valley of the Dolls in ages...I loved it. Alot of people dogged this movie saying it was a flop. I never believed that. I liked it. And all those women were great in it. Patty Duke. Sharon Tate, Barbara Parkins, Susan Hayward. Lee Grant. Not a flop to me.

    1. Right after the surgery was awful... but by time we left the recovery area, I had my own recovery room where my mother was able to spend the day too, they're surprised I did not have more pain up by time I left. The one nurse said I was a near perfect patient. Going in she didn't have very many worries considering I'm so healthy. See it's gin I tell you.

    2. I can’t believe I didn’t drink enough gin!

    1. I was the same way Elle. People were laughing....but having never had any medical emergency or surgery or even broken a bone, fractured anything or even sprained a part of in the hospital ever except to be born....what did they expect? My blood pressure from being worked up before hand was alarming my doctor so much so he pit me on a low dosage BP med!

  18. My dear Maddie I have been gone way too long. I feel like I missed out on so much. So it seems as though you have new pearly whites? I do wish you the best of recoveries.

Damn! I missed my opportunity to test the gums?!?!
