You've got to climb Mount Everest to reach the Valley of the Dolls. It's a brutal climb to reach that peak. You stand there. Waiting for the rush of exhilaration; but it doesn't come.
Four hours of surgery.6 Meds. Recovering nicely. Mostly some swelling and numbness now, some pain but recovering nicely. Two more days home to recover and Meds.
YIPPPEEEEE!
Sparkle Mads, Sparkle ! :)

I'm happy for you, kiddo. I have become proficient in gumming my food. I think I'll keep it that way. Big squishy nonpainful hugs Mads.
ReplyDeleteDeedles...I still can't believe I did this. The swelling and numbness are bad, but surprisingly I had hardly any pain. Now the diet might kill me. For three weeks nothing but EnSures, shakes, broths, pudding, applesauce and the like. After three weeks the same, but can than work in the like of ground meats, pasta, eggs, mac and cheese, pancakes and such. My regular diet can't happen till around January 18th. I have already lost 3 pounds! This may be the first Christmas season I don't gain weight.
DeleteGlad you're on the road to recovery, sweetpea! Cheers to meds and their awesome powers! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet cheeks it's been quite an ordeal.
DeleteSwelling and numbness? Is one of those meds Viagra, dear..?! Jx
ReplyDeleteDear, that's the LAST thing I need! The boys complain now about my appetite
DeleteI also thought you'd get a kick out of this...My lips currently look like that of Amanda Lepore.
Have some champagne, dear! Jx
DeleteHellooooooo Dolls!!!!
ReplyDeleteDid they do the implants right away, or do you have to go back?
ReplyDeleteI currently have a temporary set of arches, implanted that will stay in till January18, then go back to get the permanent set in which will be slightly heavier in weight, because of the material they are made in, and a tad smaller. The temps are nice because it gives time for the bone and implant stints time to bond and you don't have to go without teeth. The meds and the diet are taking some getting used to and the hardest part for me, since I have rarely taken meds much for anything, except maybe aspirin... and so used to eating what I enjoy in moderation.
DeleteGlad the pain and soreness is manageable. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteYou take it easy! Good to read that the surgery went well and you're almost back with us.

Thank you Scarlet. Still feels as though I was hit in the face with a softball!
DeleteI glad to read you don't have much pain that is good. Glad to see your always appropriate post pop up! I adored that movie...good yet campy fun.
ReplyDeleteMistress you are a card!!!!!! I so happy to read your mending so well That is a lot of meds! Are they affecting you at all? And I haven't Valley of the Dolls in ages...I loved it. Alot of people dogged this movie saying it was a flop. I never believed that. I liked it. And all those women were great in it. Patty Duke. Sharon Tate, Barbara Parkins, Susan Hayward. Lee Grant. Not a flop to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad it's over. Hopefully I'll need anything else done for another 40 years.
DeleteAnne Welles:
ReplyDeleteNeely, you know it's bad to take liquor with those pills.
Neely O'Hara:
They work faster. Glad your mending!
So glad you survived, Mads. It sounds awful and yet so much better than it could be. Hope every day is better than the day before.
ReplyDeleteRight after the surgery was awful... but by time we left the recovery area, I had my own recovery room where my mother was able to spend the day too, they're surprised I did not have more pain up by time I left. The one nurse said I was a near perfect patient. Going in she didn't have very many worries considering I'm so healthy. See it's gin I tell you.
DeleteI can’t believe I didn’t drink enough gin!
DeleteGlad to hear that is over. The anxiety beforehand for me for these things is almost crippling. Hope you mend well!
ReplyDeleteI was the same way Elle. People were laughing....but having never had any medical emergency or surgery or even broken a bone, fractured anything or even sprained a part of in the hospital ever except to be born....what did they expect? My blood pressure from being worked up before hand was alarming my doctor so much so he pit me on a low dosage BP med!
DeleteSee, you survived. We knew you would. Take it easy on the Oxy. Men and Gin are easier to give up.
ReplyDeleteThey wanted to put me on one painkiller of some kind and I refused it. Ill stick to my usual evils... your right.
DeleteI hope the house boys are looking after you.
ReplyDeleteMore like bitching about me at the moment.
DeleteSpeedy recovery!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're on the mend, but holy hell. You made me thankful I had a crown replaced now rather than go through another dental implant.

ReplyDeleteSo glad your recovery is going well. Be good and do what the hunky doctor tells you. 😎
The surgeon was rather hunky.....
DeleteMy dear Maddie I have been gone way too long. I feel like I missed out on so much. So it seems as though you have new pearly whites? I do wish you the best of recoveries.
ReplyDeleteDamn! I missed my opportunity to test the gums?!?!
😂😂😂😂 There was no gums for too long but a few hours.
DeleteI don't like the sound of your diet much, but it'll be over before you know it, hopefully. Glad to hear that it all went well!
ReplyDeleteThe diet I think will kill me before any pain will.
DeleteI'm glad it went well for you.
ReplyDeleteMaîtresse bon rétablissement :)
ReplyDelete-Beau Mec à Deauville
Yay! You survived. Enjoy those meds while they last. A good pain pill is a thing of beauty.
