What a lovely weekend! We finally got some nice weather, sunny skies, and nice warm days. I got outside to do a very nice clean up in the garden after so many days of rains. I harvested many flowers from the stalks, raked, and pruned back many plantings. Mulled Cider with bourbon was made and a nice sit outside yesterday. I think I'm in the autumn spirit now. I'm happy to report I saw my uncle who is slated to move down to Ashville on Tuesday. I visited with dinner yesterday and said good byes to their lovely home my aunt and uncle lived in for the last 29years. Some nice memories in that house. We will see him and his family at Thanksgiving when I host the dinner. Other things to look forward to up next, opening of another showroom in Lancaster, a promotion... as Ill now be overseeing two showrooms, a trip booked for the Seawitch Festival in Rehoboth Beach, and then at last; the big trip of the year to Nairobi,( I had to take six pricks for the trip at the doctors office), not to mention Hallowe'en and my birthday...so there's that. And I'm off today, so had a nice, naked lie in today!!! So suck it Monday.
First off...LOVE the new header!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlady to hear your uncle is finally moving. Im sure you all had swell memories in the house. While I loved moving and downsizing, it's still mixed moving because of the memories of a place. And congrats on the promotion. Again , doesn't shock me with your talent.
I loved this post!!!! The pies, the cakes, or were they pumpkins too that boy has on the backside? Fall inspiration and Halloween is coming, isn't it?
Thank you Agnes!
DeleteTerrific post! I agree with Agnes. What an exciting trip you have planned.
ReplyDeleteI'm here! I'm Monday! You told me to suck it?
ReplyDeleteVery nice feast this week! I'm still reeling from yesterday post.
Leave it to the Mistress to drop a bomb and run! Or was that a very nice bone?
DeleteOpen wide Monday!!!!
DeleteGreat seasonal photos! Glad your uncle is now able to carry out his plans to move. Sounds like you have some exciting plans coming up, lucky you!
ReplyDeleteI had a very similar Saturday - a bit of warm sunshine, and a load of sorting in the garden. Today, The Madam continued the job. We're back in a warm spell until at least Thursday here in London, but the rapidly-disappearing light reminds us it's not summer any more...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the promotion - and how exciting that you're "doing a Karen Blixen" for your winter holiday! Jx
I getting chapeaus made with layers of mosquito nets as we speak.....
Delete"I had to take six pricks for the trip at the doctors office" call me crazy, but isn't that your normal friday night???
ReplyDeleteand the wicked witch...reminds me of you unleashing your squirrel army on dc to wreak havoc...
I'm going to need to see you, with your contract in the office this minute Miss Moorecock.....
DeleteExcellent pictures this week! I love your mulled bourbon cider!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow tell the man bent over to not move...I'll be right there.
Yep, time to break out the bourbon.
DeleteWhat a cool trip to be planning! Great photos yet again. I must admit, I’m fixated on the cakes and tarts.
ReplyDeleteThe trip was to happen have already, but we had to postpone it once already for unforeseen reasons.
DeleteAutumn cakes, and glad your aunt and uncle will be able to get on with their move.
ReplyDeletePlus, Nairobi??!??! I love Wisconsin in the fall!!.

That was a joke. I know Nairobi is in Michigan,
Your too funny!!! And just my uncle, my aunt passed on in 2021.
DeleteLove the boots!
ReplyDeleteAnd for a second there I thought those were your cakes....
XOXO
You're to kind. I wish my cakes looked like that.
DeleteAmong the photos, luv the sweet buns and the houseboy in the forest. :-)
ReplyDeletep.s. Maddie you must post the recipe for the happy cider. :)
Isn't that houseboy delish!?! His name is Matt Dubbe. Just google Matt of the Trail for his twitter or Instagram for further earthly delights!!!!
DeleteMatt's also on Only Friends...
ReplyDeleteHe could ravage me over and over and over again!!! I was going to post his onlyfans, but I find the naughty twitter shows enough goodies.
DeleteNice mood board and fall inspiration. Love that second to last picture of the house!!! And sounds like you got a full few months coming up. Congrats on the promotion too!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute the mouse!!! The living room is making me want to start cocooning. I just love autumn. Congratulations on the job promotion...what do you expect when your good?!? Good news about your uncles moving finally too.
ReplyDeleteHuntleyBiGuy:
ReplyDeleteNothing like some luscious cakes and pies.
I was hoping you'd want to dig in! And what's this I read about you and jock straps?
DeleteThat's a nice video of me with my flying monkeys. Nairobi? Has this been in the works for a while? I must have missed something because I don't know why we're going to Nairobi. You enjoyed those six pricks, didn't you? Another beautiful mood board, my love.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Yes....the trip was to happen originally before the pandemic...and then it hit. Then rescheduled again because of Warbucks schedule and then mine. The fourth time is the charm. I thought now this has to work...I took six pricks of various vaccines for this.
DeleteLions, elephants, and giraffes are in your future, how exciting. Maybe even a Zebra or two.
ReplyDeleteOr all those near naked natives!
DeleteThat orange house is a nice residence for a good witch, hopefully one who can keep the orange zombie far, far away. Don't get et when you go abroad.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I had every vaccine known to man....and with the gin I consume....good luck invading this temple!
DeleteNothing better than a nice naked lie-in. Unless it's accompanied by a naked friend and a few gin & tonics.
ReplyDeleteI wished Fall arrived in October here. Those pics are beautiful, but not as lovely as that 2.5 story home near the end. When do we move in?
ReplyDeleteIsn't that stunning?!?!?! Another few weeks and it will look like that here in those pictures.
DeleteTundra Bunny here...
ReplyDeleteYou've captured autumn perfectly in this mood board, Maddie! Love your October header, the orange house, leaves, pumpkins and pies. That mouse is absolutely ADORABLE, though it's either the world's largest acorn or the world's tiniest mouse, LOL! It would make a great Halloween costume for a little kid too: a papier mache acorn helmet, face paint and brown T-shirt & leggings. We had our first frost the other night, so I won't be surprised to see snow here by Halloween. At least you won't have to worry about snow in Namibia, LOL!
I sense some AI in that photo!!! OMG Snow! Bit your tongue!!!!! We generally get out first frost sometime from mid to end of November. We only had one 5" snow fall last year.
DeleteLove that mood board!!! I especially like the foliage woods with the two lane road. Breathtaking. And having met you, I too thought that was your ass at first. Yeah...I checked it out.
