PRIDE MEMORIES

A pride night in 2012

I can still recall my first Pride Festival. It was in 94, and it was with the Clan of good friends I am still good friends with today. I came out and did my first Pride all at the same time. Came out as in went to the festival and clubs. Mind you, I was never in. I was always out, born out I dare say. But it wasn't till the summer of 94 I felt like a debutante going to her first ball. The first guy I dated, we had already split up, had hounded me for months and months to come out to the clubs with he and his friends. I just didn't think I'd have any interest. But I finally did that one summer day of Pride, and we are all still real close friends to this day.  A part of me was very nervous because I didn't know what to expect...and I was so innocent and naive then, cough, cough. Little did I know I'd become a huge club kid and creature of the night. I remember being blown away by the Pride festivities and frivolity. It was held at the time in Reservoir Park in Harrisburg. I was blown away to see just how many gays there were in the area. I recall it being very cool, knowing that almost everyone there was gay and no worries of any bullies or troublemakers. Although, Mame, who later became my good friend and sister, hated me at first. You see, up till then she was the youngest and blondest in our Clan and also dated the same guy I had....so he saw it as me replacing him in the group as the newest twinkie. While at a drag show at the festival, I noticed a guy giving me the eyes. It went on the whole show. I recall getting nervous. Was my penis hanging out of my shorts and I didn't know it? Nope. That night Winfred, the guy I had been dating, was having a pre-Pride party before heading out to the clubs for the night. Needless to say, I was high and tight before going out. And we had a blast out, the club was packed, people everywhere, disco balls spinning, stunning drag queens...and what seemed like nonstop beverages. I was drawn to the energy. About an hour into the night, the guy from the festival giving me the up and down, came over to me and introduced himself. We danced and danced and then found a corner to talk a bit, before he started kissing me. I was like, whoa, are you making out with me or taking inventory??? But I liked it. I told him to find me before he goes. I didn't want to blow my friends off too soon. An hour later, he returns and wants to know if I want to come home with him...and his other half!!!! For more drinks and fun! Of course, I said yes...and disappeared out the door with them. His hubby was hot as he was. I do admit it caught me off guard though. The best part was they lived almost right around the corner from me. The nice big bed they had, nice dim lighting, a few drinks, two nice size cocks and some hot sex all conspired to make a night of enchantment. I spent the night too. And it turned out two weeks later when I went to interview about a new job I was interested in, in visual display, guess who was the human resource manager? He later told me, I would have got the job on merit alone, but he placed my resume on the top, and many of the other resumes seemed to have "disappeared". I was at that first job almost 8 years, before moving to Philly too. Not to mention had many more threesomes with those boys. A few things I learned that night? I would become famous for skipping out. I was famous for my disappearing acts or just passing out. 2- I loved drag queens, clubs and the nightlife. Who know then I'd become a drag queen for twenty some years. 3- I love big cocks and threesome. And most importantly it's NOT ALWAYS who you know, but who you blow.

  1. Who you blow... I wish I had known that all those years ago while I was trying to make connections. I had participated finally in my first Pride parade that same year, 1994. I marched with the UC San Diego contingent. SG and I led off with the new banner we bought for the group. The next year I marched with San Diego’s LGBTQI center, which was called The Center at that time and was located on Normal Street!

    1. No matter how many years later...it still amazes me the close connection and the feeling of Pride Parades and festivals. I sometimes get choked up still. The feeling never tires.

  4. I worked with the Pride Festival for a number of years, co-running it one year, and by the time Pride night rolled around I usually spent half an hour at the Strawberry, and another half at the Neptune, and then went home to bed.

  5. I knew several gay men in the legal profession whose careers advanced via the bedroom and the sexual contacts they made.

  7. Love the story!
My first Pride was also awesome. I ended up dancing on top of a float, of course.
And big cocks and a threesome? Where do I sign???

    XOXO

  8. Well, this was quite the read first thing in the morning.

Oh, I read what Mitchell said above. There is a Normal Street here in town, but at times the scenery makes you wonder how to define normal!

  10. Oh my word Mistress!!!! Now that ensemble for sure made a statement. I went to a pride festival a few times to show support with my gay friends and nephew. They were a fum bunch.

Speaks volumes about you that your still friends with your clan still. It's rare to find friendship that last so long anymore...People move on quickly or don't invest the time. Hold on to them tight.

  11. Wow!!!!! That opening view. That makes me hot with all the straps!!!

I remember being petrified to go to pride...Im not sure why. But once I saw the men from all walks of life....who were gay...I was fine. It took me four years to muster the courage to go. Now I do at least 3 different prides in the area every year. Or New Yorks. I don't have any juicy pride story...other then old men hitting on me.

  12. My first Pride was in 1985, where the unlikely combination of Tom Robinson and the Beverley Sisters were on the bill, and Divine sailed triumphantly down the Thames singing on a barge!

I can't recall much outright smut'n'scandal on that particular occasion, but I certainly made up for it since!!! Jx

  13. One of the first times I was in a gay bar--maybe even the very first time--someone asked me if I was a cop because I was so straight-acting. It takes a lot of booze and a roomful of flamers before I can turn on the flame myself. Oddly enough, the baths were different, most everybody was straight-acting. And well into middle-age, which I unexpectedly found a turn-on (as I was 30 but looked 20.) I lost my cherry to someone around 20 years older than me and loved it. Someone that much older than me at my age now, well, forgive me if I'd rather look backwards.

    1. I agree Kirk. I too had an older man break me in so to speak. And now here I am on my way to a daddy. Last summer at the Woods I had a hook up with a cute Asian guy and during sex he called me Daddy. I didn't think I footed that bill yet but ok. I do get the feeling you might turn me on!!!

    1. Listen, if the guy or boss is hot, and I'm attracted to him, and he wants to have some sex and I get a raise??? Who am I to urge? I know I'm a hard worker...and I like sex!

    Callipygic delight well framed :-)
Joyous Pride Month to all.:) Let’s not allow the bullies from our childhoods, now adults, drag us back into the closets that become suffocating tombs.
