AT THE CASA DU BORGHESE

It has been an age since I posted anything relating to the new Casa du Borghese since moving back to the ancestorial home. While my heart will most likely remain in Bucks County, one perk to being back in the Cumberland County home is that I get to toil and potter in a garden and the soil. The fun stuff mind you since the Mother has gardening guys to mow and trim bushes. Even the houseboys are delegated to only menial house chores, and most does upping the property value. The Mother I believe has some extra pep in her step. I had forgotten how much work goes into gardening, but I think my late father would be happy I'm getting things back in order like he had them. While we have a lovely shed, we have gotten rid of most of its contents except for smaller gardening tools and the wheelbarrow. So next summer, I love to turn it into a potting shed inside. I have also gotten set up all the bird feeding stations and we shall see if I can attract all the birds I used to get at the Old Casa du Borghese. We seem to get most of the same variety, but here I have gotten hummingbirds, which I never had luck with attracting in Doylestown. To the dismay of Lillith, I have also befriended Bouvier 2!!! You knew it was a matter of time. Here are some snaps from recently with some from the end of spring.

My hand with delphiniums paid off. I also mixed some in with even more saliva since it did so well last summer. I think that is what's attracting the hummingbirds.
I love just planting tons of pots and sitting around.
The roses of all kinds are going nut this season.
I can't keep up with dead heading them.
Some peonies from spring
Busy as a bee!
Our blueberry bushes did very well this season.
Below was berries from just one week back in June.
Bouvier II
The smoke tree is also going nuts. I cut this way back in the fall. It is now above the shed.
One of several hummingbird feeders. They are buggers to get a photo of.
So far I can't complain. Life has been pretty good. Between life, and the gardening I have been saying my prayers nightly for continued success to one of my Patron Saints.

Now Im off to enjoy a nice sit with a G&T.

AN INTERTUDE

I've been in a great music kick lately. This song, is one of my favorite male vocalists, Tom Grennan, I wanted to feature it in this past Sunday's Pride Party Post, but I think it's a stand-alone. Tom is an English singer-songwriter from Bedford and is based in London but originally from Ireland with his family. Tom is not my usual fare of hunk either, but there is something that gets me hot and bothered about him, and I also love his sense of fashion. Here's a collaboration he did with Calvin Harris. One of my favorites
