NOVEMBER FROST
It was the perfect day. Today I awoke to a beautiful foggy, frost laden morning. I love a foggy morning, but when they occur in the autumn, they are especially pretty and peaceful.
And looks like my last rose and cassia have been numbered.
The frost season is way too brief. Feels like we went from frost to icy cold in about a week. I'm not complaining; the lawn has gone dormant, the leaves are down and have already more or less been mulched in to give the soil a good hit of nutrients for the winter.
Thanksgiving weekend, Santa arrives. Time to contemplate hauling the decorations out for December.
I'm not sure exactly where you're at, but this week we're supposed to go into the mid to high 50s again possibly close to 60 one day. Talk about a yo-yo.
Grim. We've had a cold snap, too - it actually snowed when we were in Portsmouth (on the South Coast of England)! And since we have been back, there have been some very cold nights indeed. Some plants are definitely suffering... Jx
Excellent pictures! I can sense the peace.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Too cold for me.
ReplyDeleteWinter scenes like these are great to look at - from the other side of glass!

DeleteWe had a beautiful frost this morning that glittered in glorious sunshine. So pretty, but as Raybeard says, nicer to be indoors looking out!

I love the photo of the mist in the trees; it feels chilly just looking at it!
ReplyDeleteYes, this is what it was like, though thicker here in the hills.
ReplyDeleteIt’s very foggy here today. With weather advisory and all.
ReplyDeleteIt’s been kinda humid too. I guess it comes with the territory.
XOXO
Take a slow walk in the silence of the morning.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a couple of months before I see frost around here.
ReplyDeleteYour climbing roses should be alright. We had a hard frost here last night and most ground plants have pegged it.
ReplyDeleteHello!!!!!! I'm here! No barriers! So glad. Missed you. Xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! But a reminder to me that I have sod-all winter clothes!
