LATE NIGHT WITH....PRINCE

Not what the usual fare of the Candy Shop, or a Late Night post would be, but he did emit sexual intensity none the less. Prince has been a Casa favorite from time to time. After all, I grew up on Prince and Madonna.  Prince... never sacrificing his art for any recording company... Prince was a American pop and soul/funk singer, guitarist, and songwriter. As an artist in the studio, Prince blended pop, dance, rock, soul, funk, and rhythm and blues in his memorable songs. As a performer onstage, he entertained with sexually provocative imagery and complex productions that shaped the concert landscape throughout the 1980's. But mostly his music brought people together for all the right reasons.

ALL IN A WEEK

I must apologize for being so absence this week. It seems I didn't make my rounds with you all this week, as I normally do. I'll admit the spring bug as bit my ass, and I started my nightly jogs up at the lake again, and I also had a dinner date with my Asian persuasion Stockbroker, whom I hadn't seen in some time. It has certainly been a week dear ones, and I'm here to tell you, I'm exhausted...EXHAUSTED I tell ya. It all started last Friday with friends at the Raven in New Hope, where we caught up with the ultra fabulous and talented Miss Hope Springs, who was in from London, for her very well received show.
What a treat and truly entertaining queen. Hope writes her own original music, sings with his own voice, and tickles the ivories of a baby grand. Afterward we even got to talk and make merry with her for some time, and the Mistress received one of her fabulous cd's....a sure thing for a relaxing weekend.

Luckily, yours truly remembered the show, but not much after that, as the spirit was getting the better of me. I do believe, Smitty the bartend was getting me drunk..... I was then taken to my room across the street, by Ms.Moorecock and left for dead till the morn light....which was very ugly indeed. I'm not sure what bus line hit me, but it was a rough day. Monday started out swell with a doctors appointment. Now I don't mind the doctor...I don't. But...my new doctor is extremely handsome,HAWT, tan,HAWT and looks muscular, and I go all stupid when left with him. What was I saying? Oh...the doctor. Well, yet again I was embarrassed this visit, as the last two. This visit was my yearly whole works check up, and I'm getting at the age now where guys start getting the ole finger up the bum check. WELL, HELLOOOOO!!!! I'm sure he knows I'm smitten after that. Good grief, at least buy me a drink first. But this time my boy down below decided he'd stand at attention!!!!!!! Now I'm proud of what I got, but he must think I'm completely easy, I have no idea what goes through his head, but he did put me at ease, till it came time to check the boy and twins and BOING....UP AGAIN! Needless to say afterwards, I needed a stiff drink.

Later in the week I had an impromptu trip to another store to help out with some visual work with a new shop called Suit Supply, and set up a display at our own store for a new designer J.Mendel.

And a handbag set up, we did at one of our entrances...Loved the yellow. I was very pleased how this turned out.
I took a half day yesterday to go visit one of my guilty pleasures Aurhaus, a lovely purveyor of beautiful interior accessories and furnishings. I am in the beginning stages of doing some interior sprucing at the Casa. The whole joint is getting the walls re- plastered and painted and then I want to freshen the place with some new accessories. I always get some good ideas at this place...but the wallet hates me for it. And like Mame Dennis, every couple years, is time for a change.
No, I won't be hanging chairs from the ceiling though.

Needless to say, I'll be happy to have the week end, and have some time to myself this weekend. After this week, I need a nice evening to relax and a day tomorrow also. Sunday will bring about Lambetville's Shad Fest which I'm heading to, so Ill report on that then. But tonight I stopped at the market to get some poesy's for the Casa. Nothing like fresh flowers to enjoy.
AH POPPIES,POPPIES...POPPIES.....

A gin and tonic....BUT OF COURSE....

And then a lovely late afternoon spell.
Isn't that what weekends are for?

GRANDE DAME

This week's Grande Dame is one of the trail blazers from  Brooklyn ,New York, who is not only putting Brooklyn of the map as a drag entertaining locale, but has a wonderfully fun style. Thorgy Thor!!! And was I the only one shocked to see her go already on Drag Race??? I adored his style and what a fun and wonderful personality he had. One thing I remember Thorgy  saying I love and take with me is this bit of advice...
"As an artist, I think it’s important to understand that good work comes in waves. Every time you are on top of the world, know that the wave will subside, then come back again. Keep going. Keep creating. And be ready for that wave. Don’t lose yourself during a low tide, but rather throw your energy into preparing for the opportunity around the corner. Treat everyone you meet with respect on your way to the top, because you may need their help on the way down... and please wear deodorant and have good breath while working in nightlife." Thorgy Thor can be seen every single Tuesday for over three years  at The Ritz on 46th in Manhattan. The second and fourth Thursday of every month you can see me performing in “QUEEN” at Industry Bar in Manhattan, which features some great talent in a non-stop production show at midnight. The third Thursday of every month,  you can celebrate the art of the auction while Thorgy co-host's “Alotta Stuff Live Auction“ at Metropolitan Bar in Brooklyn with an 8:30 p.m. Every Saturday and Sunday you can see Thorgy having a blast running around Lucky Chengs in Times Square — NYC’s longest-running Drag Cabaret Dinner Theater, going strong for 20 years.
