MESSAGE OF THE DAY

Seen today on Main Street in Mechanicsburg while grabbing a coffee. And how true. I wonder what the fair goers for Jubilee Day tomorrow will think of seeing this? I mean here in this fair hamlet, where a church seems to be on just about every corner. One can't aim a money shot here without hitting a church.

  1. People often confuse Rights with Privilege, they are entirely different things. I like that Sign. Every Human Being should enjoy the same Rights. As for Privilege, well, Society has always shown Favor... and Favor is never Fair... or Bras would never have come in Sizes.

  2. Problem solved: Start your own church. A church is nothing more than a room where people congregate and the manager sells them holy redemption and eternal life. So... put a bunch of chairs in rows, stand behind the bar or kitchen island and sell them your, uh, okay, let's not go there right now. Get a divinity degree online, offer your congregants a cocktail and a few homilies and reap your share of the tax free status so graciously accepted by all the churches in America. Truth be known, your congregation will be better off with what you are selling. And call it The Consecrated Church of our Lady Borghese in the Shadow of the Casa.

    1. I would start my own church but I'd be more worried about what happens when it comes to the kneeling part! Talk about giving donations! But the sign tickled me when I saw it. I love how in the eyes of some we shouldn't have rights or be considered residents, but yet when it comes to money and paying taxes they have no problem taking our money.

  5. Well, it IS true, so.... if they are offended it is because they are using their tax exemption to be horrible bigots...
I hope many people see the sign. Bravo!

  6. Why shouldn't gay people marry? As for churches.....we have to pay for garden waste bins every year. But guess what.....the Church of England doesn't. and they are one of the richest organisations in England. The church over the road from us has 4 garden waste bins....all for free. It's not as if they can't afford it.

  7. "Straight" to the point.
You might be surprised at the number of churches right here in Sin City. Heck, we even have a few mega-churches (ugh!!).
