The Snow Queen finally visited!!!
Yes, I'm happy! Mind you, our snow removal guy is out currently as he is getting a knee replacement. I suspect we got between 8-9". Nothing I couldn't handle. I love it. It peacefully, quiet, and not a sole on the road or to be seen.
And yes! I did indeed take out some "refreshment" while shoveling!!!
Sophie went out numerous times, once even without her little coat. She dashed around a bit before having enough. Now she is out cold, sleeping. I already have a half day tomorrow. It's been a nice day all told, and now awaiting a New England Pot Roast to come out of the crock pot, with some red wine. Some candles lit. A beautiful card received yesterday made me smile from the wonderful Tundra Bunny, who also informed me she made a nice donation of a soft stretcher in Buster's memory to her local humane society.
Isn't she sweet!

9 inches? I think we could handle that, dear!
ReplyDeleteClink, clink, sweetie. Keep warm. Jx
True! Anything over 10" and there'd be leftovers.
DeleteSophie is adorable! I love the pictures and I do also enjoy fresh snow until it wears out its welcome. It's a shame we don't get Cardinals here. Do you see them often? Or is this a lucky chance to get a pic of one?
ReplyDeleteAt one point Melanie there was upwards of 6 female and 4 or 5 male cardinals today. Matter of fact last winter I believe it was, I had a cardinal eat right from my hand!!!! I'm still in shock thinking of that. I counted about 10 different bird breeds today. Yesterday brought about a bluebird sighting.
DeleteI bet that cognac helped keep you warm while out in the cold clearing away snow. That was a nice gesture by Tundra Bunny's to commemorate Buster. Buster had his fans too!
ReplyDeleteBuster LOVED the snow too, so the card was very timely to say the least. And my neighbor loved the bottle being chilled in the snow, lol!!!! It did it's job...yes!
DeleteI love the pictures! Looks like you got more than we did in Philly. I can only imagine the bird feeding frenzy you had today.
ReplyDeleteAnd I swear, I can smell the pot roast.
The bottle of Courvoisier in the snow! Atta girl, you classy bitch.
ReplyDeleteI love your snow day pictures! We even got a few inches here at the beach. Now all you need is a small pot belly stove for your potting shed to take nips in, hahahaha! I love this post, and one to take the mind off things if only briefly.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a pot belly stove, but I do have two firepits, but that wouldn't be a good idea for in there. The squirrels are always around the door, as they know that where the stock pile of seed is!!!
DeleteWait...no nude snow angels?
ReplyDeleteMuch too cold....even for my boy bits!
DeleteWe got hit by this storm as well. Just a bit of snow, plenty of ice to turn this place into a standstill. Our government is ill prepared for every winter storm. We're victims from the lack of constant need and fiscal conservatism
ReplyDeleteI have to say, people here for once heeded warnings and stayed off the roads, and the roadways were cleared pretty well for once. People even moved their cars off the streets after the threat of not plowing their streets if they didn't.
DeleteIt is truly breathtaking (I’m sure especially when you‘re shoveling). Enjoy those 9 inches. Tundra Bunny is the Queen of the North.
ReplyDeleteThe nine inches wasn't too bad. I'm still walking upright.
DeleteWe have about 17 inches. I cleared the walkways, thought I was about to die, and called a snowplow service. They're coming today to do the driveway. Sophie is adorable!
ReplyDeleteVery smart. The snow wasn't too bad. I got much heavier when it started sleeting though. I have yet to do the sidewalk. That will be today.
DeleteWhat?! no half-naked house boys shoveling your sidewalk? Howie hates it. This damn snow has covered up his sticks and stones.
ReplyDeleteOur meager snowfall was gone before lunch and then the ice storm never came.
ReplyDeleteI do have Courvoisier though, so that's something!
A few inches can make all the difference in the world. Hunker down, stay warm, think hot thoughts.
ReplyDeleteFor once I am grateful for the never ending rain on this side of the pond. We don't need that kind of snow - I think I suffer from snowphobia, along with a lot of people on this island. I feel sorry for those having problems finding money for heating and eating.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so peaceful. I hope the power remains on and you stay warm. I keep seeing tallies on TV how many people are without it in several states.
ReplyDeleteI see The Usual Suspects made appearances, too.
ReplyDeleteCourvoisier and snow shoveling! I like the way you think!
ReplyDeleteIt warmed up my ass!
DeleteThat Cigar Box looks interesting!!!
ReplyDeleteYes in the warmer months I tend to like 2 to 3 cigars during the year, I may have smoked four cigars one year I can't remember. It's not something I usually partake of.
DeleteNo doubt the house boys are keeping you warm. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the card arrived safely, Maddie... I wasn't sure if the Canada Post dog-teams would be able to get past ICE at the 49th Parallel, but mission accomplished!
ReplyDelete😂😂😂 They know better then to triffel with the mistress.
DeleteA fine choice of liquor you had, indeed ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt did it's job!!!
DeleteWasn't that Courvoisier bottle full when you started?!?
ReplyDeleteMaybe.
