LATE NIGHT...LEDISI

Ledisi is in the top tier of postmillennial singers with a highly acclaimed catalog of music that combines traditional R&B and jazz with modern finesse. This New Orleans native has been a successful independent artist for years now and has a couple of well-regarded albums under her belt. One of her latest songs that has caught my attention, and a timely title. This is from her upcoming" For Dinah" album... her deeply close tribute to the great Dinah Washington.

  1. A Great Voice from Louisiana. Must be the heat and humidity that produces a Voice like this. Thanks for posting and sharing. Makes me proud of Louisiana.

  5. I see you're back to advertising Citroens. The only time I was ever in one was when I stayed with a family who lived in the Languedoc 55+ years ago. They had a Citroen.

    1. Before I was born, my paternal grandfather bought on from a man who moved from France. A white one like the one above. I would have LOVED to have it, but my grandmother ended up selling it to a guy who collected antique cars. I always LOVED their style and silhouette. And one of the best suspension systems ever in a car.

  6. She's another underrated artist, this song is soul. But at the same time, I like when they are not to well known.... their talent stay more natural and true.

  8. Oh my Golly Gosh she is amazing and I love her voice.
I can hear elements of Dinah Washington and other of the greats in her voice and vocal style but that is a good thing. Her voice is 100% her own. She is Fab U Lous.
