SHIRLEY HEMPHILL

I always loved me some of the late, great and full of hilarity and sass of Shirley Hemphill. I also think back in the day I was the only white kid who watched and knew what, What's Happening was. I have no idea what this skit was from, but she cracked me up!

  2. She could be funny, but my favorite character on What's Happening was Roger's kid sister Dee, played by Danielle Spencer.

  13. To quote one of your fellow bloggers, Shirley Hemphill is HIGH-larious! I wonder if she was a comedic influence on Leslie Jones?
