IN THREE WORDS

In this feature, I'll share a guest with you all each week,

and you tell me in only three words what comes to mind.

In Three Words...

Rex Reed

A funny story I recalled with Rex Reed's passing this week. One of the clan, Preston, about ten years back was out one night getting heavily cruised by Mr Reed, And I wouldn't blame Mr. Reed, because Preston is very easy on the eyes with many redeemable assets. As it was told to me, after some time, Rex came up to him, copped a few feels, and invited him home, to which Preston declined. Of course, being young, Preston had no clue it was. Had I been present I would have thrown myself to the wolf.

Love that story, gave me a chuckle. Not sure who I felt more bad for.

    1. Ah, so THAT's where I remember the name from - that very 'iffy' film with Raquel Welch as MyrA - at the time seeming (to me then) so sexy - and Rex Reed, to me so sexLESS!

  10. This isn't 3 words but have you read his obituary by Merin Curotto in The Observer? So well done; lovely writing. I didn't even know he had died until I saw your post.

    1. Now I have not seen it yet. Should I seek it out? I'm curious to know if it was glowing or scathing? I know he was not very well liked by many, and loved by others.

    2. I enjoyed reading it b/c it gave both a personal and professional side of him (she was his editor and friend). Agree: people seemed to love him or hate him, no in-between. But this was a very honest, actually touching obituary. And I always appreciate a well-written obit. I remember sitting w/my grandmother and watching RR on the Mike Douglas show; that's how old I am.
