Cultural Juggernaut
A cultural Juggernaut refers to a powerful and influential force in acting, music, culture, and often characterized by its ability to shape trends, norms and public opinion. Someone who has been an influence over society and popular culture. 44 years ago, Madonna hit. A cultural juggernaut hennies.

There is no-one who can even come close! A phenomenon. Jx
ReplyDeleteI agree, even with the likes of Lady Gaga and Beyonce, I dare say not even a will have a career that's going to be as long as Madonna's.
DeleteOh, people can (and will) say whatever they want about Madge, but she's got no equal.
ReplyDeleteIn many ways, she's the blueprint. In terms of music, in terms of style, in terms of business acumen, many of the girlies today (and many that came out in the late eighties, nineties and aughts) used her as a model.
Is she bitchy? Yes. has she had work done? Duh. Is she 67? Yes. Is there anybody out there like her? No.
Love her.
XOXO
You're right also. What many of these girls come out, where are almost 85% of them now?
DeleteAlways liked her don't-care-what-they-think attitude. She wears her uniqueness with a flourish.
ReplyDeleteI've always enjoyed her outspokenness. Some of her tweets back to Trump have been actually pretty funny. She can probably buy and sell him, LOL.
Delete:-)
DeleteI didn't realise she had reinvented herself so many times! My favourite song of hers is "Ray of light". Xx
ReplyDeleteThat was an excellent album!
DeleteYes, it was/is SO good - and also, unbelievably, it was actually the last 'pop' album I bought - 1998, Goodness me!
DeleteTime flies when you're having.
DeleteSuperb! One of the most influential, brilliant and consequential artists in oour lifetime!
ReplyDeleteBless 'er!! A huge influence and don't let anyone forget it.
ReplyDeleteSx
Sorry, was never a bit fan.
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to say you were only a bit fan? LOL
DeleteShe is my age, amazing. She did have a weird period in her 50's when she tried desperately to look like she was 20.
ReplyDeleteI will let you all celebrate the madge-esty of her. There are some of her that I like, and some that I think are try-hard, but I have to give it to her, she's managed to keep us guessing for decades!
ReplyDeleteI think she's the only one for my middle school days that's even still around and relevant.
DeleteTruth. That has dimmed, but so what? There is always something new and shiny to grab attention. In the moment, she did it and did it big. She got so many panties in a twist....
ReplyDeleteTHIS WOMAN not only has a discography second to none, she caused culture to shift more than once.
DeleteI did like the 18th century style outfit.
ReplyDeleteI feel about Madonna the same way Anne Marie felt about ABBA.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you 100% on that, Duchess Deedles!
DeleteThank you, Tundra! It feels good not to be alone.
DeleteYou two?!?!?! There must be ONE song by her you too like??? How can one not like This Used to be My Playground, or Live to Tell. Or Take a Bow. They are such pretty songs.
DeleteSorry, Maddie, I just don't like her voice at all. Never have, never will.
DeleteNope, nope, nope. Her voice has always been like nails on a chalkboard to me!
DeleteI like Madonna, but I know what you two are saying. When I hear Stevie Nicks sing, all I hear is a goat.
DeleteShe truly is a cultural juggernaut who has had staying power, same as Cher, but it's Madonna's constant reinvention that developed into a musical timetable for me. When I hear her songs, I know exactly how old I was when the song first came out and what my life was like then.
ReplyDeleteI have always thought she was beautiful no matter the imagine and she still has one of the best discographies of all time.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not just about her many images but her vast catalogue. It’s her music genre bending powers.- Her ability to bend ,twist, and mold pop art to her whims. She is the Blueprint of the Modern Pop era. period.
ReplyDeleteMadonna, the soundtrack to my life.
ReplyDeleteLadies and gentlemen, THIS is how you become the Queen of pop. 👏👏👏 Name another female artist, besides Cher... with a better catalog and as many songs. I’ll wait.
ReplyDeleteI have her Greatest Hits album. I guess that makes me a fan.
ReplyDeleteI believe Ms. M will be around for a long, long time. Fabulous is just one of a hundred words to describe Her.
ReplyDeleteIn 1985, I was a 16-year-old Japanese woman living in Japan, where male dominance and patriarchy were the norm. Watching 0:51"Material Girl" changed my life. I realized once again that Madonna's dancing and singing voice gave me the strength to live as a single woman.
ReplyDeleteMadonna is the ultimate reference for any female artist in music.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget that every time you see a female artist doing something, Madonna already did it first.
Always a fan of Madonna. I hope she will continue to entertain us as long as she is alive. Love the photos. She is the only performer still going since my early years, and has anyone had more looks and styles then she has? One never knows what's coming next.
ReplyDeleteLEGEND. PEROID.
ReplyDeleteCan we call you a cultural juggernaut of the blogosphere?
