TOM DICK OR HARRY

...or any Tom Harry or Dick. It's like a scene with the Mistress by pursuit of The Lad, Warbucks and the Lumbersexual. It's a scene from my dating life dears. Now, if I could get them in leotards...

And people wonder why Ann Miller is one of our Patron Saints.
Fun fact...the safety gay in red leotard is none other than Bob Fosse.

    1. I'm surprised many don't know that was Bob Fosse dancing in this...along with another great legend, Tommy Rall.

  3. I'm not going to tell you how many times I watched this movie before I figured out she wasn't saying repeatedly "I'll take a Dick". Hint-I had grandchildren and I'd been watching this since I was a child. I watched it mainly for Howard Keel *sigh*.

    1. I agree Deedles! Howard Keel was a bit of a hubba hubba back than. Beside this and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, the only other thing I saw him in was Dallas as Clayton Farlow.

  7. Why you never did that for a drag number is beyond me! And by DAMNED...I swear Ann Miller had to be one of the best female dancers in Hollywood. Under-rated I say.

  8. Almost 70 years old and it’s as fresh and innovative as the day it was shot. I ADORED Ann Miller too.

I have seen videos of this number from later stage revivals, and they don't compare to this one. Choreographing this song as a tap number with this group of outstanding dancers really makes a bigger impression. Huge fan of Ann Miller too.

Oh and good luck getting the boys to back you up Mistress.

  10. I can't believe you didn't do this as a drag number. This has you written all over it!
    Dick and all......

  11. They don’t do em like this anymore… I would love for more huge Broadway productions like this to come around without any of the flashy CGI. Just pure Star power and talent. Fabulous clip!

  13. What a riot. I especially like when they sing any Tom, Hairy (oops, I mean Harry), or Dick. i watched the video before reading what you had to say. Thanks for pointing out Bob Fosse. The entire time I watched I kept thinking he was so familiar. Did you ever see the 1976 production with Mark Singer as Petruchio. Talk about men in tights! I was laid up in bed with a cast from my ankle to my hip. He was so good for my recuperation.

    1. Even with a cast, the blood flowed to at least one part on Mitchell. LOL

      Ahhhhhh men in tights.....

    2. I was only 22 and, yes, the blood did flow. It was the pits. I stayed with my aunt and uncle in their guest room the entire time! I will never forget Mark Singer in those tights.

    3. How could one forget. Marc Singer often filled everything out. He wore very tight jeans too. And he didn't look too danity in the neither region either. I see recall him in tight jeans and shirtless in the mini series V.

One can never forget those great musicals produced by MGM.
All that work and full entertainment of acting, singing, dancing, choreography, athleticism and wit in vibrant Technicolor with multitalented people in front of and behind the camera cannot be equaled.
Use to see those great musicals at the Savoy, Karlton, Stanton and Colonial movie theaters.

    1. I agree. Even though there was scandal going on...you sure didn't see it. They had style and grace, and many were multi- talented. I suspect we may never see those likes again. Ann Miller especially always give me chills watching her dance.

  18. I don't know...do I want to see you nail the Ann Miller part, or do I want to see you as one of the dancers in thights....full tights in your case.

  19. I will take all three. Have them sent around.
