MOOD BOARD

Another day to recover...then it's back to work! Whatever that is!!!! Now my mind is going to Christmas...granted I cant eat anything. May be the first holiday season I don't gain weight.

Happy Monday All!!!
Now a favorite singer of mine Julie London. I find her voice sublime. Sure couldn't hurt.

  1. How did you know that's my carolling outfit this year? Glad you're feeling better -- I'm sure the gin cock-a-tails are a big help!

  3. OMG Love Julie London! The GLAM!!
And glad you're slowly going back to 'normal' (with no solids!).
You're gonna give Violet a run for her money with the waist at the end of all this!

    XOXO

    1. Julie London's songs and vocals are enough to make me doing just about anything! And yes to the waist....I'm already down 4 pounds! My 30" waist jeans are already loose. Thank Goddess I have some ass to hold them up.

  5. Julie London was a magnificent singer - such a shame she stopped recording back in 1969. She claimed her voice was shot, thanks to her smoking habit - but that never did Marianne Faithfull any harm in her career! Jx

    1. I agree Jon. I have a three-cd set of her songs, titled Supplicated Lady...pure bliss for a few hours.

    2. I think it's actually "Sophisticated" rather than "Supplicated" 😎 Jx

    1. I always thought a Cary Grant/Montgomery Cliff sandwich would be heavenly. With a side of a young Richard Burton as dessert.

    2. Montgomery Clift sure was H-O-T.

    3. I agree Raybread! I just watched a movie that he was in over the weekend, about Pearl Habor. He and a young Richard Burton were in it. Oh my.

I hope the season is finding you well. You have been on my mind as I have just had oral surgery done...now I see what you were talking about. I had your fear done of having all my teeth taken out and implants done. Surprisingly and I won't complain, but I had relativity no pain after...more a stiffness and dull soreness than anything. I think the soft diet will kill me first.

  8. A beautiful mood board, as always. Too bad you have to return to work tomorrow, but I'm sure your skills are needed. Julie London is wonderful. I love the gentleman rabbit and the fox in the snow.

    Love,

I of course enjoyed the mood board, but the song selection only added to the mood. There were few singers who could do for a song what Julie London did. I'm impressed with you younger folk familiar with her.

  12. Loved loved LOVED the showgirl illustration!!! And the ho ho ho pieces moving.

Thanks a million for posting this Julie selection. I'd been a fan of Julie London for a long time, but it wasn't till I shopped in a high-end boutique once that I heard this song until a year ago on their Christmas playlist! Her incredible voice! Her phrasings are so precise.

  15. I was a big fan of Julie London back in the day. My favorite song of hers of all time was Cry Me A River. I remember she was married to Dragnet's Jack Webb.

  17. Darling Mistress,

it is a curious fact that as soon as one cannot or should not do something.....one wants to do it all the more. Perhaps your Christmas fare this year will be down to soup. Granted that it does not sound quite as exciting as Roast Turkey with all the trimmings....but it is nourishing, easy to make, full of vitamins and not needing chewing. That is how we survived.

Mood Boards, minus any black forest gateaux, can keep your mind from things edible....perhaps?

    1. So far, the soups are a saving grace...but I can't lie, my Christmas eve dinner of roast beef, Yorkshire pudding with potatoes and greens beans will be sorely missed this year, no pun intended. Thank you for your stopping in. Have you got any snow there yet?
