SATURDAY NIGHT GAY DANCE PARTY

I think it's time for a fabulous gay Saturday Night Dance Party. The club days did and still do give me life. I LOVE dancing. So in the tradition of our Anne Marie...let's dance like no one's watching!  In these times, I find dancing is a cure for what aches! This will most likely be my set of tunes for my last Woods trip in September when I host, down the dance floor.

  1. I've only heard of Boogie Wonderland and Xanadu. I should probably take my dusty butt to bed now. Check your email, Mads.

    1. Got it! I admit it made me laugh. And we all know some days I don't make any sense. I love me some Boogie Wonderland!

    2. I loved Xanadu, but when I first saw it, I wondered what I'd just seen. I miss the disco days. Seems so long ago now. Nice to see you pop up Deedles.

  4. Love this list! I'm halfway through listening and I'm already sweating. Being a product of the clubs in the 90s and forward, this was some of the best music ever. I can still remember getting all worked up on Dance Floor to plastic dreams. Talk about getting worked up! So many good memories here!

    1. While as you know I see go out to clubs and enjoy it, it still doesn't compete to the golden 90 and early 2000's. Club goers now have no idea of the antics, campery and things that went on.

  5. Mistress, with this playlist you're going to have the boys worked up into a frenzy that weekend! And then to end the whole thing with Xanadu? Very campy. I admit many of these songs got me in the mood. How can dance and house music not make anyone happy?

  8. I'm too old to appreciate this; from being a Beatles fan back in the day I've morphed into an opera lover....but NOT Wagner.

Brings back memories of great party times in the 80’s and 90’s. Where did those days go ?! :)
Lots of great music to choose from and dance to when I was on the stripper circuit in California and across the country.

    1. If I get out that way, I'd love to meet up and hear some of your stories! I would not give up anything I did back then. Such good, if not saucy, times , at time! I never feel more alive then when out in clubs.

  13. Lordy!!!!! I miss Anne Marie's dance parties on Saturday! This is making my house cleaning get down today while enjoying these gems!!! Swept Away is one of my Diana Ross songs, and one that never gets played much.

  14. You're so lucky to have experienced all this in the clubs. Because the music sucks now, if you can even find a club to dance in. This gave me LIFE today!!!!!! Loved them all and never heard of half of them.

  15. My Dear Mistress. You should come teach these people down here to Play Tunes like you posted !!!!

  16. YAS HENNY!!!!!!!! If you were lucky enough to have the club scene embrace you, it will never leave you!!!! These songs transport me to 90' s and early 2000's! When I hear these songs I can still feel the same excitement I was experiencing at going to nightclubs for the first time. Plastic Dreams!!!! The queens would get out of control once that first beat hit. The floor would be PACKED!!!!

And you newer songs I love. Love Anabelle Englund! You know she is Clois Leachman's granddaughter, right? Ill be at the Woods that weekend girl.

You said it and couldn't agree more. And yes, I did know she was Cloris's granddaughter.

  17. Excellent list of classic and so new. I used to LOVE the Jomanda song!!!! And thank you for playing Robin S' lesser-known song Luv for Luv. Everyone's go to is always Show Me Love...but the one you featured was far more old school club. I like it better.

  18. Memories!!! I want back to the best time of my life. I often feel for people who never experienced the club scene. I foraged many longtime friendships then. This selection is off the hook girl.

I have always though the Jess Glynne song was beautiful, I always thing of summer with that one...and Love Inc!!!!!!!! Omg!

  21. LOVE. My only regret is I don't get to enjoy much of the 90's, I was only in grade school so this couldn't be helped. But what a legendary time it must have been. I love the music here. Cold chills down my spine! Isn't that one of the symptoms of being addicted to club and house music?

  22. Always enjoyed Corona the superstar. She is really quite talented! Very distinctive style of music. Superb singing. And Captain Hollywood Project never disappointed.

  23. I wasn't familiar with many of these but don't dislike them either. William and I always went out to clubs. We loved our disco! My favorite here? Dee-lite's Party Happening People! A fun lively ditty. Honestly these are all toe tappers.
