By far my favorite snap from the day!
So two weeks ago, the Clan was attending World Pride, and I ended up going unexpectedly for day. While maybe not as attended as the New York World Pride several years back, this was the 50th Anniversary of Pride and in the nation's capital. The final word was the event was attended by over 2 million from around the globe. An event as much as a celebration of LBGTQ and resilience as it was a call to action amidst heightened political tension. It was the global epicenter of Pride, solidarity and activism. The day I was there, there were independant marches, concerts and many events from short films, documentaries and immersive exhibits to view, to street festivals, and protest. And many groups to march with in the streets to promote equality in the country, thanks to those Stonewall rioters. And it's worth remembering that Pride began as a radical act of protest, and this history is more relevant than ever today. It was a long day and am I getting exhausted from Prides...I'm getting there, but I feel it's my duty to get out there be seen and attend so many Prides that I'm able too. I have to admit it was an exuberant feeling to walk to solemn marches and be part of our history to honor those who paved the way and push our visibility for a future where freedom is universal. Some of my snaps for the day.
This old bitch, Bianca Del Rio
Preston and boyfriend Anthony...in a touching yet hot capture! They were serving more cake that Tastykake, and legs that a bucket of chicken.
Two more Prides to go yet...New York City and Harrisburg.
I should be breaking wind with glitter by now.
I couldn't make it to Long Beach Pride this year, so thoroughly enjoying your month of Pride, which is even better 🌈
ReplyDeleteSister Shirley, I don't think I've ever been to this many Prides in one season. And every single one of them came out in force more than normal I think.
DeleteI would have loved to have been in DC for World Pride. As nice crowds are gaining everywhere for Pride I personally know far too many LGBT that are sitting home and not representing. Then when the current administration strip us of right, they will be bitching. Love the first photo! Best sign yet henny.
ReplyDeleteI can remember before the pandemic, I stopped going to Pride's for a year or two. I can remember what Obama was in it seemed like we were making great strides. But then when he was out of office I returned going. It's much like the ocean I learned. We definitely cannot turn our back for too long. So I'll at least attend one Pride every year. This year was an exception for me to attend so many but I thought it's very important to do so. I don't ever recall time of my life attending so many Prides and protests.
Delete1, honey....I hear it was spectacular. 2, Ohhhhh gurl, Bianca gonna cut you. And 3, you boys got some booty baby. Maybe I should use them for another video! Vapors here honey.
ReplyDelete* runs off to get the plant mister*
DeleteWhat absolute and total F-U-N!
ReplyDeleteJust to see that guy with his lovely sign in front of the White House was worth the whole trip alone.
DeleteYes, I can well believe that. :-)
DeleteDon’t you always break wind with glitter? These photos are empowering!
ReplyDeleteDear, I think I was born in a pool of glitter.
DeleteLOL. My point exactly!
DeleteWonderful montage!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your fab photos.
ReplyDeleteWe have indeed moved forward a long way from where we were in the 1970s but their is so much still to fight for especially for our brothers and sisters around the world
You're absolutely right. We have all accomplished a lot but like you said anything could reverse at any time.
DeleteDouble check my math, the estimate is 10,000 people showed up for the little man's parade, so 2-million is about 200 times more people.
ReplyDeleteSome spectacular photos!
ReplyDeleteMany more of us than his little army of ignorant fucks, so we need to bottle our Pride and carry it forward to every single election cycle.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pride!
Amen Bob!!!!!!!!!
DeleteThat's what I thought too Bob. When I heard and saw how many people were there you know that just bit him in the Royal ass!
DeleteAn informative selection of photos, Maddie. The "You Are Loved" on the steps actually cracked my robot heart, so it's my favourite. But those arms holding the "No man is above the law"...
ReplyDeleteYou should have seen his legs! Some many phots opts everywhere.....
DeleteKing TACO can only dream about getting a parade like that, or a crowd that size. I hope he saw it.
ReplyDeleteOh you know some dumbass probably struck his ego and told him the crowds weren't really that big. Oh but he saw it trust me. He'll get his revenge on us yet. Look what happened with the no Kings protest and all the numbers. The next day he took it out on everybody and told ice to invade only Democratic cities. Coincidental?
DeleteBrava Mistress!!!! Good on you for getting out being seen and having fun all while serving and helping the purpose. Excellent pictures they speak for themselves really. The Republicans must have LOVED how gay the city got?!?!?! LMAO!!!!!! I bet the huge turnout pissed Trump off. With his measly 200,000 crowd. HAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteThe first picture, I dare say could grace TIME!!!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent pictures and if Preston and Anthony are available one night for, huh, let's see, dinner! Yes, that's it dinner, give them my digits. Friend of mine that were there said it was a massive crowd. It was hard getting into places like eateries and pubs, but they said it was well worth it.
It was a feel-good day that's for sure, And with international friends too.
ReplyDeleteYou sure do get around!
ReplyDeleteOne never knows where he'll pop up or on who's cock.
DeleteWow, great photos, Maddie! And you're really gonna need some quality R&R in the woods this July!
ReplyDeleteExcellent pictures! Your pride month has been a joy! And Preston and his man need a weekend in Philly!
ReplyDeleteAllow me to say how great it is to see the posters in that picture below Preston and Anthony?
ReplyDeleteI thought so too. It was a very intermarsive Maze of oversized boards with gay history on it I thought that was a very nice touch for Pride Festival.
DeleteSadly Scotus is taking the law from those who are Maggotd.
ReplyDeleteThat may be what Trump is, but I sure ain't gonna suck it!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Kirk, I don't think you have to. I think most of the Republican parties' already doing it.
DeleteHad a blast at DC Pride !
ReplyDeleteWe had a huge turnout, can’t wait to go to NYC.
No doubt our maga government will find a way to deny permits for Pride celebrations and others that do not fit their twisted narrative. Or send out their ICE goon squad, just a matter of time.
Trust me when I say the power brokers in DC are behind all this. Presidents and Representatives come and go, the power brokers stay to cause more shit and make it all worse.
Rex in DC
I agree with you. The politicians are a pain in the ass but it's the power brokers that can be worst. Your fine city hosted a fine event. And the eye candy wasn't bad either. Yes, now on to NYC before my vacation. New York Prides never disappoint.
DeleteAnd I don't know Rex is your real name or not, but I absolutely love that name. I dated a Rex once. Thoughts of him still make me blush. Thanks for your visits Rex.
Excellent picture Mistress. I had a wedding that day to attend but most of my boys went down and said the whole town seemed gay. Looks like a great and historic pride. I love that exhibit with the trailblazers.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've been able to attend so many Prides this Season Maddie.
