CHRISTMAS NIGHT DANCE PARTY

Nothing wrong with a little holiday cheer!

This Christmas I had thoughts of our dearly departed Anne Marie and thought oh what the hell! Let's enjoy some fun holiday ditties to shake the titties! This post is for our dear Anne Marie, and a few other bloggers we lost.... and letting them know they are still thought of!

  1. I'm sure Anne Marie would have loved your curated collection of holiday music!

  2. The Waitresses! One of the very few Xmas songs I actually like (and even the Spice Girls cover is fun). Good to see Postmodern Jukebox make an appearance! [We're thinking of going to see them again when they're in London next April - we had such a faboo time when they were at the Palladium in May!] Jx

  4. It's cold and windy at the shore today...so this was an amazing assortment of out of the box goodness of carols to warm me up!!! You're a good dj. Shear bliss, to listen too and look at, as well as being funny. There is so much talent here, and some new ones. Who knew Mae West sang a Christmas song???? Here's to and raise my glass to Anne Marie!!!

  5. Ohhhhh so good!!!! I like the different twist on the Christmas Eve song, of course! I'm in such a good mood after this. I adore Postmodern Jukebox. This whole idea of taking more recent music and putting an old school twist on it is pure genius! Can we just talk about how the clarinetist is amazing? Like the tone and technique are just on point.

Merry Christmas to our departed friends.

  11. The music and singing are fantastic in the Postmodern Juke Box, but that tap dancer is brilliant. I enjoy all these songs...fun. peppy and sound nostalgic. I'd so go to your parties.

    1. That is one of their more amazing Christmas songs I think. The tap dancer was brilliant, I agree.

    1. Yes, I remember that too which, I think, was a one-off appearance (as, I believe, Liberace's was also).
However, the irreplaceable WQ eternally in our thoughts and hearts. There's been no one like her since, nor is there likely to be.

    2. And for some reason Raybeard, I bet she'd enjoy the Eggnog song best!

  13. Nice eclectic bunch of Christmas tunes. If only the neighborhood carolers would add them to their repertoire.

  15. I'm the Grinch here; if there's one thing I really hate about Christmas it's Christmas music.....and I don't mean carols. If I go into any shop at this time of year, if they were playing carols that would be fine; schmaltzy music no.

    2. I love the old vintage Christmas music the best like the Les Baxter, Ray Coniff and the New Christy Minstrels and such. Brings about fond memories. If I could take one song and easre it from history, it would be that fucking Mariah Carey tune! Every fucking half hour it's played I swear!!!! Someone ought to boil that fat cow in oil.

  16. I think I was born in the wrong era I love old classical Christmas music better. I can understand every word and hear every instrument... so refreshing I wish things didn't have to change to what they are now..
