Thursday night here was exciting. If you were on the east coast, then you had a very good view for the show. A severe geomagnetic storm led to the Northern Lights being visible above much of Pennsylvania, and much of the US from Texas up through the south to the Northeast. Around 10:15 I grabbed the good camera and got some very pretty shots, from the back garden and in the park. This is one of those moments I talk about that are just magical if you take the time to enjoy them.
Boy, when you see things like this, it almost doesn't look real.
The universe and nature are amazing.
WOW!!!!!! I heard about this, but I so mad at myself I forgot to go outside and see it.
ReplyDeleteI usually do miss things like this too. So I was pleased I remembered.
DeleteStunning pictures you got!!!!!! I didn't know anything about it. Then I happen to be sitting reading and looked out and thought the sky looked weird. It was amazing here in Philly too.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw pictures from cities...they looked so cool.
DeleteBeautiful!!!!!!!! How amazing this happened!
ReplyDeleteMy phone camera in night mode got a slight pinkish glow, but that's it. Your photos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI know right away to het out my good camera....i never have it ready. So that night I did. Thanks Jennifer!
DeleteThey were gorgeous. And you got some beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, I was trying to avoid getting attacked by a 8 week old puppy, and too busy to go outside.
ReplyDeleteA friend from PA told me about this and it really seemed unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fantastic!!!!
PA. from what I hear had some excellent views and a show.
DeleteSpectacular!
ReplyDeleteI am mad-jealous I have longed to see the northern lights.
ReplyDeletePurple skies...could God be LGBTQ?
ReplyDeleteThat might explain the feeling of the sense of being violated while I sleep alone.
DeleteI'm ashamed to say, I slept through the whole spectacle!
ReplyDeleteTruly spectacular. Our family in Northern Norway sees this every winter. I saw it from a plane once when flowing out of the Pacific Northwest, but I’ve never seen anything like this. Thanks for sharing the beauty.
ReplyDeleteI could get use to seeing this Mitchell!
DeleteI only wished we could have seen this here. Looks like a spectacular moment.
ReplyDeleteLucky you. We got nothing on this side of the world.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular, I was already asleep.
ReplyDeleteSadly, whenever there's something interesting going on in the skies round ehre it gets covered in cloud, or I fall alseep.
ReplyDeleteSame here Helen...so it was rare to finally see something occur that normally doesn't.
DeleteI didn't get anything like that where I live. That's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe had glorious displays this year... It was quite the summer. So sad to see it go. Hope all is well, dear. Take good care of yourself. Kizzes.
