MOOD BOARD

A stunning weekend! Warm, sunny, and time in the gardening getting it ready for sleep and just a few sits. I was happy with what gone done, even if the leaves were already falling like crazy. Today in true autumn fashion, it is a bit cloudy and some strong gales. Drats, its Monday!!!! Sneaks up again!!! Up late watching the 1959 House on Haunted Hill. Never in the cinema has there ever been a better or more dramatic scream than that of Carol Ohmart! And she sums up perfectly my knowing it is Monday again.

October is the treasure of the year.

And all the months pay bounty to her store;

The fields and orchards still their tribute bear;

And fill her brimming coffers more and more

But she, with youthful lavishness

Spends all her wealth in gaudy dresses,

And decks herself in garments bold,

Of scarlet, purple, yellow red and gold,

She heedeth not how swift the witching hours approach,

But smile and sings her happy life long.

  1. Lovely stuff to promote the season's mood!

    We're still hovering in the low 90s --- about 10 degrees above normal.

  2. Are pics 1 & 7 of the same house? Whether they are or no a painter/decorator is desperately needed.

    1. That's probably going to be my house when I get old and people think I'm like Little Edie!. I like the look of it but I sure couldn't live with that daily.

  3. I miss my black cat. I still might want one when we get closer to the other holidays.

  4. I'm not into the creepy. I found through the years that black cats always seemed to be more friendly than the others.
    A bubble butt is always welcome in my home!

    1. I'm more a dog person myself like you Duchess, but if I have cats they're always going to be black. I just adore black cats.

    2. The funny thing is that strays always liked me. The one cat that someone left at my door killed my five-foot fake fichus after I took him/her in. It was too much of a psycho queen for me to handle so I gave her to my youngest sister, the neighborhood animal whisperer. Turns out she/him (the cat, not my sister) had a brain tumor of some sort and had to be put out of everyone's misery. I still like black cats though. I won't let the crazy of one spoil my love of the whole breed, or whatever they're called. Of course I like anything with fur. I also like snakes, frogs and lizards, none of which are allowed in a house containing Balder Half. Have a good night, Mads. Oooh, you called me Duchess, should I call you Mistress now?

    3. I only had the one cat, a black cat I named called Starrbooty! She was such a lovable and well-behaved cat, if not a diva. She and I would have late morning lounges in the bed together to the appalment of my ex. We would sleep in on weekend till like 1pm! I rescued her too. She had jade green eyes, so pretty. I don't know you were here yet at the Casa when I had her, but we were both torn up when she passed on. But your story...that seemed to be the best for all involved by the sound of it.

      Now sleep tight Deedles....don't let the goblins bite!

    There's something so striking and fresh about orange houses. Even an orange door on a white house catches the eye. And that blonde guy has some nice pumpkins too, I must say!

    1. A white house with an orange door sounds amazing!!! I'm not a huge orange lover, but I do like it in small doses. But that house is amazing, isn't it?

    Fun mood board! I love the original House on Haunted Hill. And your right, the best blood curdling scream had to come from Carol Ohmart. And she was quite the beauty.

  20. Catching up, my dear. Since autumn has descended I have been in a funk. Love your mood boards. Adore that one with the crumbling staircase. And that Vincent Price movie is one of my all-time faves. The blonde, Carol Ohmart, was actually a fairly good actress - Paramount Pictures bungled her debut and she had to make the best of a botched launch. She became a poet - new age stuff. But she had the look.
