Had to look him up on Wikipedia, where it says he was "known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech", so I'm not surprised I never heard of him. We were taught The Queen's English. Jx
My recollection of English grammar is virtually non-existent, even though I have an O-level in the subject. I first came across the Road Less Travelled when reading Up the Down Staircase by Bel Kaufmann about 15 years after leaving school.
